Airtex 429 Mechanical Fuel Pump: Superior Performance for Optimal Fuel Delivery Review

Fits my 1949 Chevy pickup with a 216 inline six. Works well, pumps fuel, looks like the original ha! How do I know what the original looked like? the car is older than me.

It didn't even come close. This was ordered for a project and when I went to install it I couldn't return it. The pump arm was too short for my 351W even though it was said to be compatible with that engine. So I lost $40.

Same look and quality as the mainstream brand but at a lower price. I personally think the same manufacturer makes both and puts different brand names on the boxes. The fit was perfect and it worked flawlessly. I would buy this again.

Installed August 2020. On my Chevy 49. I really doubt I have 1200 miles on it as most of the 21 or so were in the body shop. Today I wanted to start and the pump died. The fuel system just burned out. Plastic tank without rust. New stainless steel lines. quality filter. Cheap fuel pump. I mean, for $50 you get what you get.
