This isn't my first Alpha so I knew what to expect. It has really good sensitivity, especially with the included high gain antenna. As many people know, Alfa has different chipset options and is based on the older Atheros chipset. Atheros has been pretty reliable for me in the past. The only problem you might encounter is driver support. Atheros doesn't seem interested in releasing new drivers for this old chipset, so you can run the Windows 7 driver in compatibility mode on Windows 10 as a…

Amazingly quick customer service.

I bought the card in mid-March, it's been gathering dust for a while. I finally used it 2 days ago. The card was picking up many SSIDs in the area and I was able to get my signal over a wider range than any of my other wireless cards. The large antenna was much heavier than the card could support, causing the WiFi card to tip on its side. The card then decided to randomly stop working and die in the middle of troubleshooting my network. I'm not overly impressed with the product yet but the…

This actually works well on the Pi

I use these things to extend my wifi range from base station to drones. I use a battery-powered router as a base station and connect GCS (Solex, Tower, QGC, etc.) to the drone via UDP. The vehicles have a Raspberry Pi with SolexCC, which (among other things) handles the mapping between Mavlink and UDP messages. Using a standard Wi-Fi Pi, it's no surprise that the range isn't great. With them, I can keep in touch with a ground vehicle even after it has driven to the other side of a small hill…

Another fake.

I previously bought one from a seller called DBROTH and it turned out to be a fake. The serial/MAC labels on the box did not match the labels on the card. And ifconfig showed a completely different MAC address. So this time I bought from a different seller. Or so I thought. And again it came from DBROTH. The packaging was different this time. BUT the MAC serial number/sticker matched on the box and on the card so I figured it was fine. Booted up the laptop, checked and a different MAC address…

Absolutely normal. to computers and accessories

Includes a 6" standard antenna and a 12" high gain antenna. I got it for my Kali laptop which doesn't support the built-in network adapter (no comment from network security OS developers). From time to time the network freezes. I have to unplug the receiver, wait 10 seconds and plug it back in. The same applies to other networks. But the big plus is that with a normal receiver I get 1 bar when I have one. However, I never go below 3/5 divisions. It can run in monitor mode and inject packets and

the thing keeps what it promises

the thing does what it promises. could definitely find more wifi in the area. The signal strength of the existing WLAN has also increased. I have a public hotspot near my home. it's out of sight. Before Alpha, I was able to connect to the access point, but it was very erratic. The connection dropped often and the download speed was frustrating. After connecting to this product, the signal went from 1-2 cycles to 3 cycles. the connection is stable, the download speed is not as good as in my home
