It's not my place to tell you that these aren't American scales, they're rubbish. If you're looking for repeatability, don't look here. Opt for German or real American production. Weight fluctuates wildly when only loaded for at least 30 seconds. he begins to crawl higher and higher. I really don't trust this thing for anything specific. I measured the same item multiple times and got an insane weight of plus or minus 0.5g. None and close to the claimed 0.1g accuracy. The accuracy is amazing in this price range. It replaced the Oxo, which wasn't consistent or accurate enough to measure a single shot of coffee beans. What needs improvement: 1. The lid does not lay flat when opened, causing it to stand out on the scale2. The keys are a little restless; sometimes they don't accept the press. I like the sensitivity of the scale. This is a great companion tool for a bread maker. I matched all bread making ingredients by weight, not by cup/spoon. Yes, it's sensitive enough to add a teaspoon of salt to the other ingredients in a breadmaker's mixing bowl! I hit the tare button before adding the new ingredient to the bowl on the scale. This is a beautiful scale, well made and comes with a power cord to help you save on batteries. At first I was very impressed but after a few days of use I have to tell you that it's not entirely spot on in accuracy which is really disappointing. Wrong model arrived. I ordered the LB-501 because it came with calibration weights and worked it down to 0.01 grams. Somehow my order was changed and I received the LB-3000 which does not come with calibration weights and reads up to 0.1 grams.
