Too heavy to put on

I always wear 20/30 compression stockings (mostly knee length) and have found them unusually and unacceptably difficult to put on. They have no flexibility, which is not the same as compression.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • unreliable

Not for wide feet on Active

Socks appear to be of very good quality and a comfortable thickness. Unfortunately, I may have to research compression stockings for wide feet. I had such a hard time putting them on my husband that I won't be using them again.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Not bad

Very helpful, very helpful.

I combine them with 20-30 calf wraps and get great compression that is easier to put on. They are also great for a bigger difference between calf and ankle size. Regular calf compression stockings don't give me even compression from calf to ankle. I'd really like a leaner version of the 20-30 crew. The thin round length compression sock can be lined under my favorite hiking socks.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Nothing

Too tight! good for sports socks

Too tight! Okay, I understand they are meant to be supportive. But that is far from true. I read all the reviews and thought that maybe they would fit me if I went up a size (I work a podiatrist 12+ hour shift) but after honestly trying it (6 shifts) I can absolutely don't wear them! I feel suffocated. To the manufacturer's credit, they're thick and seem to hold up well if you can tolerate the compression. I'm 5 feet 5 inches tall and weigh 150 pounds. Hope that helps.

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Minor problems

Great socks, great quality.

I bought these socks and now they are enough to last a week without washing. I have found these compression stockings to be comfortable for everyday use and greatly improve blood circulation in the legs and feet. The Ames brand is thick, soft and holds up to compression very well, even after many washes. I sold all three lengths at Revain. Wednesday is great as I wear 9.5 shoes. The only downside is that they are a bit pricey, but still worth it.

Pros
  • Ease of use
Cons
  • There are flaws

Perfect fit, great look

I was looking for compression stockings, actually sports socks with compression. These fit the bill! I see a lot of people complaining about the narrowness. Be sure to measure your feet according to the size chart in the pictures. These fit well. They are tight because compression stockings are meant to be tight. The sock is cotton which I like. If you don't look closely, you won't see that it's a compression stocking. They don't roll. Aside from being slightly denser than regular socks, they…

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Empty

Impractical for me

The tourniquet is tight. Pulled it out almost immediately due to the pain it was causing. It offers tight compression at the ankle and is crew length to look more normal with shorts - both of which I wanted. However, the pressure transition between the ankle and the upper edge of the sock is not sufficiently graduated, which makes it very uncomfortable in the middle of the calf. This may be fine for a person in good shape, but for a person who previously had DVT and is now developing varicose…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Boring packaging

Ames Coolmax Seem Good (Updated February 9, 2015)

I've only worn these a few times but they seem like a good buy. They fit well, the compression feels good and they appear to be well made. Time will tell how they hold up. Update: Pros: - holds up well after several wears and washes - compression still seems good even after accidentally washing them and machine drying them a few times (see washing instructions below) Cons: - shouldn't be washed and tumble dried dried - if discolored or soiled, they stay that way (even after occasional machine…
