Works great for converting 2s lipo to 5v. However, they are not enough to handle a fresh 3s liposuction. (In other words, they can handle 7.2 volts all day, but 11.2 volts will smoke mine out right away.) Luckily, the Adafruit deck and amp didn't suffer from a blown regulator.

I am not new to electronics. I've had a long career in EE and linear controls are as simple as they get. In fact, I often prefer less efficient linear converters to buck converters for their simplicity and reliability. They also don't generate noise like active buck converters. But not this one. . .
