AMAZING GEAR FOR THE PRICE.

My first binocular microscope. This is an amazing deal for the price. My first topic; Cockroach. Wow. Next is my alcohol dipped bow tie. just wow. There is an internal thread at the base where I attached a bolt that connects to a micro-sized articulated arm that holds a powerful LED flashlight for 4x visibility. As shown in the photo, the hand can hold the platform for a small object. [A dead housefly won't lay on its feet!] I'll make a similar hole in a spot that won't interfere with the…

An affordable way to get a totally different view of the world

I used a stereoscope in the lab when I was in college for some coursework. I've always liked to bring random things to look at before and after class. Deep down I always thought I'd like one someday, but figured they were too expensive. I found this rather by accident at Revain and bought it the same day. I'm so glad I did! I use it to look at many things, especially natural objects. Try looking at the sand, you will be amazed at the variety of colors you see up close. Everyday things under…

I am a professional with experience in high quality Zeiss, Leica, Nikon and Olympus microscopes, some of which cost several hundred thousand dollars cost and using advanced imaging technologies. I bought it for home use to look at various items I found on field trips. If you are a parent looking for a microscope for your science interested child or just a curious adult and just want to buy a microscope, get this one. It will be a pleasant purchase, much more pleasant than buying a compound…

EXCELLENT OPTICS! / TERRIBLE LIGHTING!

This AmScope stereo microscope, like all their stereo microscopes, has one major disadvantage. The LED light source supplied with the microscope is not suitable for every magnification. Even at 20 power, the lowest level, it's not enough. At 40 hp, that's a very bad joke. The problem is not the type of lighting used. The LED lighting is excellent. The problem is that this particular stereo microscope only has three LED lights at the top. There should be at least ten, preferably a dozen. I…
