Description of ๐Ÿ”ง ANCEL VD500 OBD II Diagnostic Scanner: Diagnostic Tool for VW, Audi, Skoda, Seat - Check Engine Light, ABS, SRS, EPB Code Reader + Oil Throttle Position Adaption + Brake Pad Reset

The VD500 OBD2 scanner is specially designed for diagnosing most 12V 16-Pin Volkswagen/Audi/Skoda/SEAT V/A Series vehicles, but it also has the ability to work on 12V cars and light trucks (non-electric) manufactured in 1996 or later that are OBD II-compliant with 16-Pin OBD II protocols (J1850 VPM, J1850PWM, ISO9141, KWP 2000 and CAN). For Volkswagen (VAG) vehicles diagnosis, the device can not only read and erase codes on engine, ABS, Transmission, SAS (not all cars), ESP, TPMS and other systems, but also reset the oil, brake pad and throttle position adaption. For other OBD II vehicles, VD500 is capable of reading/erasing, show error code definitions, turning off the MIL (check engine light) and retrieving VIN information. VD500โ€™s diagnostic range for Volkswagen vehicles covers the following vehicles: VW (CC, EOS, Golf, GTI, Jetta, Passat, Phaeton, Polo, Rabbit, Sharan, Tiguan, Touran, Touareg); Audi (A3, A4, A6, A7, A8, A5, Q3, Q5, Q7, R8, RS3, TT, RS, RS5, S4, S6); Skoda (Octavia, Rapid, Yeti, Kodiaq, Fabio, Superb); SEAT (Leon, Ateca, Ibize, Altea, Cushion, Cord, Alhambra) diagnosis. With English and German as the two display languages, this diagnostic tool provides life-time free software updates to fix the latest bugs or add new parameters. Just download the software from the official website, then follow on-screen instructions to install.

2011 Audi Q5 Airbag / Due for Service

I needed this for my 2011 Audi Q5. When replacing the timing chain, I started the car with the bumper removed. The airbag light came on and the parking brake didn't work. In less than a minute he reset the code and cheered me on. The service light also came on and I was able to reset. Did exactly what I needed. Cheaper scanners don't seem to work on new cars so I didn't take the risk. It was the cheapest option I could find. The dealer was charging $150 to do the exact same thing I was doingโ€ฆ

All in one, no extra features

This is a very basic OBDII reader except it does a lot more than I thought it would. It can actually scan modules alongside the main ECU, which is good because the cheaper things like airbags or tire pressure monitoring systems etc don't really do it. I'm glad I spent a little more money on a better model as my Golf R has had issues with some other readers in the past. No more trouble! I just wish it was smaller. it's actually quite bulky. But then again, the smaller ones I had didn't have asโ€ฆ

Rear Brake Service Required On New VW

If you have a Volkswagen with an electric parking brake you will need this to replace the rear pads. This is exactly what I needed to replace the rear brakes on my 2014 CC. Just plug it in, turn on the ignition and follow the mounts to retract the piston into the calipers. If you are interested in cars, this should be in your tool box. I was in the middle of a complete brake job when I realized I needed this for the rear end. The purchase saved me a ton of money by being able to service my carโ€ฆ

He does what I need! Recommended for VW owners.

Initially skeptical how this under $100 unit could perform the same functions as a VAG-COM machine costing hundreds to thousands of dollars. It happened! I was able to verify codes that my cheap Bluetooth couldn't get. I bought it to be able to do more with my daughter's VW Jetta 2010. Even after a small repair and CEL off, I decided to scan other control modules. Tracking down that elusive lightbulb is a pain. I found it 2 days before it arrived and the lights were off but I thought let's seeโ€ฆ

Great tool. Easy to use!

This tool works as promised! And it's all cheaper than the prices of most other OBD-II scan tools with EPB break-in capability. I just used it today to change the brake pads on my daughter's 2012 Volkswagen Tiguan. It has 25,800 miles on it and I was shocked when my daughter told me she heard a crunching noise from behind. I was initially a bit suspicious of changing the rear brake pads because of the EPB motor. Until I found this tool for about $55 which as the description states had an EPBโ€ฆ

SOLUTION OF MY BATTERY!

scanner to help me change the brakes and rotors on my 2016 VW Passat. The scanner itself is solidly made and doesn't look cheap, but I didn't like it. I followed the instructions that some people kindly posted in their reviews and the scanner didn't do anything. It processed the command I tried for EPB but kept saying "cannot start" and then froze my dash and drained my battery (like my car was having a seizure). I tried it three times and the same thing happened every time. I would have toโ€ฆ
