Clear 2 L Anchor Hocking Ovenproof Glass Batter Bowl, 2 Quart Review

A very useful bowl. The handle makes it easy to hold when scooping out dough etc. I had trouble judging the size before purchasing so I added a picture next to the gallon milk jug. My standard sized hand mixer even works in it. Bonus! Hope that helps!

The cup exploded and shattered while standing alone in the dish dryer. Unused since yesterday. Very bad reviews. Pyrex found as a replacement. Many reports of Anchor products breaking for no reason. Should be withdrawn from sale.

I don't know what to say about this dough bowl other than it's not the Anchor Hocking quality that I know. I have so many items from Anchor, Libbey, Pyrex etc and I have never bought anything this low. The bowl is full of scratches and stains. The weld of the bowl glass is very sharp. The rim around the top of the bowl is scratched in a few places. My intuition tells me this is probably a fake.

I bought this to replace an existing one I got as a gift a few years ago. The rim is cracked but it's the perfect size and I just wanted the same. It was the same, but somehow the quality was lower! The glass on the handle is not smooth. There's a small protrusion that digs into my hand when I pick it up. At first I thought it was no big deal. I now realize that I had to contact the seller immediately as this is really annoying and borders on pain! Definitely not good quality control.

I use this to make hummingbird food and I need the ratio of 2 cups water to 1 cup sugar to be correct. I checked the measurements with an accurate measuring cup and it was off. 7 cups of water is close to the 8 cup mark. Another problem I have is that it's almost impossible to pour liquid without spilling it on the front of the batter bowl. If it was just water it wouldn't be so bad, but sugar syrup is a gooey mess. I kept it because I needed something big with a handle, but wish it didn't have

Pros: Fits in my 12" x 12" nut milk carton. Can be washed in the dishwasher. Easy to clean. Cons: May spill when pouring into a bottle. But I think it's for sealing jar.) Overall I would recommend this product because it will make life easier for those using it with a nut milk bag. I made almond milk out of it and it was easy to pour into each bottle. The only downside is that the glass can be too heavy when pouring. So I drip a little on the outside of the bottle. It is no problem for me.

The Dremel tool with the sanding roller installed quickly smoothed out this area so I'll leave it alone, but it seems to me that a little more quality control is needed here.
