Andersen Hinged Door Lock Actuator: Secure and Convenient Locking Solution Review

When our thumb grip on our multi-point lock on our Anderson French door that leads to our patio broke, we called our door company who said they have a door lock system included handles. like we originally bought in 2003. This part fits the latch part of an Andersen 400 series door lock. The difficulty with these doors is that you have to turn the door handle up to turn the deadbolt. Our contractors forgot so they picked the lock and we found this to be the part most likely to fail in this situation. exactly what I want, one with a multi-point deadbolt lock. Other than that, this is the 4th drive I've had to order. The part is two piece and everything used to connect/attach the cross to the screw appears to be ceramic or something. This compromises the integrity of the part. Nothing else failed on the door, just that simple detail. .I'm not sure after 10+ years of this design how they wouldn't change the part being forged or welded.
