This part saved us $300

When our thumb grip on our multi-point lock on our Anderson French door that leads to our patio broke, we called our door company who said they have a door lock system included handles. like we originally bought in 2003. We bought it for $300 but when it arrived we found that the only part we needed was the disc drive. Searching the internet I found this little part for $14.99. My husband said it was easy to change. Then we got the new locking system back and we got our $300 back!

Pros
  • Permanent test results

Fixed Door with Anderson 3-Point Lock

The deadbolt on our door with Anderson 3-Point Lock is broken. It just spun freely and wouldn't turn on again when you lifted the door handle. We were concerned that we would either have to swap the door or order a kit to replace the entire locking mechanism. Did a little research and found that the problem could be in the actuator. We found some youtube videos and guides online and hoped this replacement drive would solve our problem. It happened! It was easy to install and now we have a…

This part fits the latch part of an Andersen 400 series door lock. The difficulty with these doors is that you have to turn the door handle up to turn the deadbolt. Our contractors forgot so they picked the lock and we found this to be the part most likely to fail in this situation. The replacement was easy and straightforward if you follow the instructions on the Andersen website. No special tools are required. We saved money on a locksmith or replaced the entire handle assembly which runs…

I'm writing about this part in general rather than whether it fits the door.

exactly what I want, one with a multi-point deadbolt lock. Other than that, this is the 4th drive I've had to order. The part is two piece and everything used to connect/attach the cross to the screw appears to be ceramic or something. This compromises the integrity of the part. Nothing else failed on the door, just that simple detail. .I'm not sure after 10+ years of this design how they wouldn't change the part being forged or welded.

Pros
  • . Fits me perfectly.
Cons
  • . I will add it later.

Exact replacement -

The actuator broke after 21 years. Unfortunately the door was unlocked. Found the right part in the installation instructions. Looking for the best deal. Revain wasn't the best price, but the free two-day shipping was nice. Luckily I had the opportunity to work from home while waiting for the job. Delivery on the second day at 17:00. Installation and testing took just five minutes. Now it works fine. A NOTICE. Andersen informed me that the warranty only covers this item for the first ten years.

Perfect. We bought a house and one of the .

Excellent. We bought a house and one of the doors was broken. After searching google for the door type and a youtube video I found what we needed. This part is an ideal spare part and replacement is very easy. First make sure and watch YouTube to install a door lock actuator, it will save you from "beginner syndrome". Ignore ratings of less than 5 - I want people to understand that in a parts rating you are not dismissing what you think is poor design. We have several of these doors. A door…
