It was just what I needed to solve my steering problem.

This is an economical solution to a potentially costly repair. I watched tutorial videos online, bought the correct swivel head ratchet, bought the correct torque (probably a T30 for my 2012 Sonata GLS) and decided to install it without removing the steering column. I disconnected the battery before starting. I also took photos with my phone during the process to document which wires I disconnected so I could connect everything properly. If you are at all mechanically inclined, be patient and…

Worked great. Avoided a $500 dealer repair.

Matches my 2013 Hyundai Sonata perfectly. I put up with the appalling rumble of metal on metal for a year and then found a very helpful 30 minute YouTube video that walked me through the entire repair. I avoided a $500 dealer repair by purchasing this and two other items. Only about $30. The whole repair took me 2 hours. If I had to do it all over again it would probably take less than 1. I purchased this clutch, ratchet and bit (pictured) from Revain. That's all you need besides your regular…

Perfect solution for a poorly designed car

My wife's 2013 Sonata had a problem with sluggish steering so I ordered this part. After watching tutorial videos on Youtube I tried it myself. Took me about 4 hours but only because I didn't have the right tools to start with. After getting a very small 1/4" ratchet handle and a T30 bit, things went much better. I could do it again in 2 hours if I had to. calm down again. Very cool. By the way, my Hyundai dealer asked for $200 to replace this small part and it annoys me.This is clearly a…

No more knocking! Fixed 2012 Kia Soul

Great replacement if you can DIY. Nearby is a photo of a destroyed Kia OEM unit that was faulty next to a new and improved replacement unit from APDTY. Kia will not remember this huge problem. with a steering clutch, which is stupid and they want to charge $500 for the job. I saved $500 by not visiting the dealership and only paying $7-8 for the replacement part. No more rattling! The tools I used to lower the steering column to gain access to the steering column motor for a 2012 Kia Soul are:…

Do it yourself to save some money.

I hate my car. Hate is not a strong word to express my contempt and disgust for my 2012 Hyundai Sonata. And just when I thought my hatred of this car couldn't get any greater, I found it amplified by the distinct 'click' noise and weird steering I was just beginning to experience. Through internet research I was able to determine that the MDPS bushing/coupling may have disintegrated in the motor housing. The solution was to buy this little star part for about $5. great you say Expect a surprise
