I had two different Asus Zen Drive 8x Ultra Slim SDRW-08U9M-U from Revain and they both didn't work on my 2019 MacBook Pro model! Customer service told me that the first shipment was missing something and to get it back they would in turn send another Mac compatible order. On the second day I received another Asus Zen Drive of the same model which after talking to customer service again did not work. They directed me to seek online help from Asus or Mac. Very dissatisfied with this product!

Very satisfied so far. Subtracting a star for delicacy and a little picky. Worked well but must be careful when disabling. You must remove the drives and use the computer's Eject External Media feature before removing it, or it will not recognize the drive when you reconnect it. The only way to eject a CD is to right-click the drive with the computer. The button on the front of the drive does not work after inserting a CD. Your support is bad. After numerous emails back and forth (very cryptic), I finally got a phone number to call. They said I could ship it at my own expense, but after 45 minutes of processing my RMA and ridiculously long shipping instructions, I finally gave up. Mini USB connector? 2021? The device I received was manufactured in 2021, but the USB connector on it is a mini USB. This connector dates back several generations and predates the micro-USB connector. Yes, the device comes with cables, but if you lose them, good luck finding one easily - you'll have to order it instead of using today's standard Micro-USB or USB-C cables, which are plentiful, hell, I probably have a dozen of them. Initial tests are looking good so it's only a matter of time. Optical drives are notorious for their short lifespans, but hopefully this one will hold up better. Works great with Verbatim media such as DVD-R and Roxio Secure Burn (not included but included). Not too loud or anything, it took 6 minutes to fill a 4.7GB drive.
