ATP B-189 Auto Transmission Filter Kit Review

Installed on my 2007 Ford Focus. The fit was perfect and the filter was easy to install. I tightened all the bolts to 21ftpds and there were no leaks.

The filter and gasket work great, (if your gasket is deformed) use an iron and iron it with distilled water, then put a heavy flat object on top and after 15 minutes it will even be perfect.

Great, works as advertised and make sure you torque all nuts/bolts to ensure even tightening and avoid leaks. I switched all existing oils to Mazda atf mv (be careful not to get confused with Mercon V, they are not the same).

I didn't actually install this myself but bought it along with some other parts that my mechanic installed it during the service. I got this ahead of time to save money and make sure it had the right parts (didn't think the local parts shop would have a kit for my weird Euro-Ford). He said the quality seemed acceptable and everything went smoothly.

Doesn't fit and I had to open everything up to make sure it fitted properly. And still nothing good, the newspaper wasn't good either. It was broken and didn't fit. . I have to use a lot of silicone, use the same filter and spend more money to buy more fluid for the car. I was about to change. I didn't make a difference though because I'm using the same filter, so I'll have to buy more liquid if I get the right filter.

It's not difficult to remove the pan (just make sure you apply an even torque, to remove the screws and gently use a scraper/crowbar to remove). The filter simply slides in/out and the sensor simply snaps into place. Clean the old gasket with a wire brush. I covered the gasket with gray RTV for caulking and displacing. The screws are alternately pressed and then tightened. After 1000 km I had no leakage problems.
