📻 Enhance Sirius Radio Reception with AudioVox SXHA1 Exterior Home Antenna Review

I installed this on the tower TV antenna and ran a cable through the attic to my radio. And nothing happened. The radio is still dead. After stressing and crying for 15 minutes which was a waste of time, it finally worked and I had a good overall signal. It's been working great ever since (I've had it for 3 months now).

Significantly improved signal level. Installed it on a ledge at the top of the house (I didn't have a south facing window so the indoor antenna kept turning itself off when someone walked through the room). I know it's a digital signal, but I swear the sound quality has improved too!

Definitely REQUIRED for exceptional indoor Sirius reception. For many years a standard clam shell antenna receiver was used. Out of the 3 strips on the reception desk I could only get 1 and sometimes 2 strips. Maybe 2 or 3 days of good reception but mostly intermittent service. Just what I needed to get full bands on my receiver. I used my existing coaxial cable at my house. Since I no longer use cable TV, it's best to use existing lines so I don't have to lay new lines. The kit includes an adapter approximately 18 inches long to connect the receiver's external antenna to a coaxial cable. The only downside to this item was the adapter that came with it to connect the radio to the RG6 cable which needs to be purchased separately to connect to the antenna. The socket pin was almost too small for the RG6 wire and I had to use force to insert it. After everything was connected, I adjusted the antenna for the best signal strength. I used the SXHA1 antenna to replace the satellite dish that came with my SIRIUS home receiver. Conclusion: I get a stronger signal now with SXHA1. Two of these recently failed during installation. After much troubleshooting, we discovered that the included SMB-RG6 adapter had failed. In both cases it worked perfectly when first screwed on, had problems after unscrewing and replugging the RG6 F connector and then completely failed showing no antenna connection on either the terrestrial or satellite side.
