It's great when it works

The Belkin N600 DB picked up a strong 2.4GHz and 5GHz signal as soon as I plugged it in. Signal strength was better than my previous Netgear product. The adapter worked fine for 4 months and then I had 2 days of signal loss and connectivity issues. After 2 days of problems, my Windows 7 computer told me that the adapter was not installed. I contacted Belkin Technical Support after trying the adapter on 4 other computers (Win 7 32 and 64, Win Vista and Ubuntu Linux 13.10) but the operating…

Browsing the Internet is fun again!

We recently had to move our router to another part of the house and in doing so the wireless internet speed on one of our devices started to drop. I used to buy another Belkin wireless USB adapter that I still use today and really liked the quality. So, looking for a new wireless adapter, I turned to Belkin again and bought this one. It takes up more space than what I have, but it plugs into the back of the device and just sticks out. customs or something. My machine is recognized and connected

  • Great for outdoor activities

Great performance, great price!

I recently changed ISP and upgraded my service to a faster speed than before and needed to upgrade my laptop's old wireless adapter. It was only able to run at 2.4GHz and I needed to be able to take advantage of the higher 5GHz that my ISP offers. I've considered just buying a new laptop, but unfortunately I don't always have the money for what I want. I always start by looking for the best price and I still get what I think is the best, but it's not the lowest price. Before I knew it, I was…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Exorbitant price

The N600 I received doesn't look like the picture. The picture above shows two LEDs, but the one I received only has one light, like the smaller N300 model. I checked the model and part numbers on the product and it says N600. This adapter comes with a CD with drivers and a manual, and strangely the manual shows the adapter with two LEDs. According to the manual, one display shows there is a proper connection and another that there is a proper security installed - nothing like a single display…

OK for Windows. not suitable for Linux (Ubuntu 12.10)

I received a slightly different version of this product with a blue LED (F9L1102v) as opposed to the green LED (F9L1101v) shown in the picture. The differences also extend to the chipset - apparently there are two versions - model numbers F9L1101v and F9L1102v. The 2v uses a RealTek chipset which I got. The product worked perfectly on Windows - I didn't even have to install the driver from the CD. On Linux, it's a whole different story. I've spent a lot of time using ndiswrapper and also…

Adapter difficult to set up

I got this because I had to move the router to another room and needed it for my desktop. I have a Netgear N600 wireless router. I used the CD and followed the instructions and couldn't get online. I contacted Netgear and since it wasn't a Netgear adapter they wanted to charge me for the installation. I got it on Sat. Of course there was no support phone number listed in the product documentation. I went online from a laptop and only the open MF was corporate. All other support for Belkin was…

Doesn't support Windows 8.1

I recently had to move my computer to another location in the house. This place didn't have ethernet access (unless I wanted to run ugly wires throughout the house) so I decided to connect to Wi-Fi. I received this adapter, plugged it in and connected to the internet. instantly. For some time. Then, the next day, when I was uploading a video to Youtube, my connection suddenly dropped. All my other WiFi devices worked fine. When trying to diagnose the problem, I saw that Windows reports an error

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Unreliable
