VERY DANGEROUS! suitable for peeler

This product is good at cutting, but extremely dangerous. The part that comes with it for safety reasons doesn't hold the item at all to cut it making it unusable. I would not recommend this product.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Very expensive

Excellent cooking tool

I really like this product. Everyone at work loves to use it. My only problem was that one of Julianna's tooth holes went through the potatoes. This blade attachment was thicker and was great for french fries.

Pros
  • looking forward to
Cons
  • not reliable

Perfect with one exception

I have been using this brand for many years. The current model I'm using has one downside. The long side of the adjustable deck may bend too much. on the bottom so it doesn't bend, but it needs to be stronger. I would make the metal rod bigger.

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • Frequency

This is NOT the latest model!

This is not the last model reviewed by the NYTimes on 01/31/2021. It must be an older model that doesn't have all the features. No non-slip rubber feet, no cut-out for the edge of the pool. The current model is white instead of beige - not that the color matters. So don't be fooled and tempted like me by the low price. It comes back unused for the right thing.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Some small things

DO NOT BUY! Won't slice evenly anymore with cheap new design

Won't slice evenly! When you cut something, the edge goes down a bit and you end up with slices that are noticeably thicker than the other side. It is often twice as thick on one side. So the whole point of this device, to give you consistent, perfectly even slices, is no longer possible. DO NOT BUY!

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • I'm worried

Great Benriner. best in kitchen and dining room

I've been using smaller versions of this tool for almost 25 years. I first saw one of these at a sushi bar and asked the chef where they were. Bought and used for about 5 years before the blades dulled. Not only for Japanese cuisine, you can also prepare very elegant side dishes. A little bit about blades. they are very spicy! Use the enclosed pusher!. Do not try to force the vegetables through the blades. I almost guarantee your fingers can turn into a bloody mess.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Too long to wait

A design flaw renders this product useless

I bought a Benriner BN3S Super Standard (larger model) which is about 11 cm (4.3 inches) wide. I bought larger models for several reasons: 1) The larger the size, the better you get full slices of fruit/vegetables without trimming. 2) I liked the idea of a detachable blade that I could resharpen, so I didn't, I don't have to throw the whole thing away when it gets boring. 3) What I really wanted was a usable mandolin, not a "kitchen utensil" that I could keep in my desk drawer. I am very…
