Let me start by saying that this is one of my favorite yarns. I bought this yarn to make a quilt pattern that comes free on the box. The yarn is very soft but smells of chemicals. When I started knitting, there were black streaks on the yarn. I'm not sure what it is. It looks a bit greasy, I'm so frustrated that I've spent several hours on my work and now it looks like this. I bought my first strand of Octopus Garden Pipsqueaks at Walmart but found I didn't have enough for a project I'm doing and none of my local Walmart had one left in stock. I paid another $5 to buy a second skein of Revain and was terribly disappointed. The yarn is not as soft as the skein I bought from the store and it looks/works like a cheaper yarn. I've knitted some stuff (mostly blankets) for babies and it turned out they love the blankets the most. This is definitely a protective material for blankets! I knitted two blankets and a little blue pipskik pattern for my two year old great grandson. He pulled it out of the box and sat on the couch for about an hour, holding it to his face.
