Excellent handling and smooth ride.

You can't go wrong with Bilstein. I replaced the factory shocks that came with my Toyota TRD with these and what a difference. The best driving experience without loss of handling and control. Installation is very simple, the hardest thing is to unscrew the screws and then just swap them out.

Big improvement: Replacement parts

Installed on Tundra Double Cab 2012. The truck had serial shocks and the ride was bouncy. Feels like a brand new truck after installation, the ride was very smooth. A must for the tundra. There were no liners in the kit, but regular ones will fit the new ones. Came with a new mother. Installation took 30 minutes.

Pros
  • Very good value for money

The rear end felt like it "kicked " a little more than I would have liked

They were for my 18 Tundra as a replacement for the OEM TRD OR Bilstiens. I always felt from the start that "tuned" TRDs have a bit of a strong rebound. When riding over bumps, the rear end felt like it "kicked" a little more than I'd like. With these 5100s I have a little more control over the rebound, the ride is still tight but the rebound is more subtle. I wouldn't say there's a day/night difference, it's actually very subtle, but the price and ease of installation make it worth it.

Exact fit for Tundra 2008

I am not a mechanic but a practical person. This is a relatively easy replacement. I suggest you jack up the car and remove the wheels before changing the shock absorbers. This provides maximum visualization. Before removing, note the position of the 2 upper rubber shock absorbers and their orientation. You must save them for the next shock. One goes over the mountain, the other under it. They do not come with a new shock absorber. A new lock nut is supplied - use this. As a long-time…

You need that for towing. The piston is larger than the 4600 series. Strong!

A big improvement over the factory stock on my 1794 Tundra. I added Timbren fenders (a great alternative to airbags) and then these. If you are towing a caravan or platform I recommend these. I'm pulling a heavy 7200 lb bug trailer, 1100 lb tongue weight, tundra limit. These things are strong but have an improved ride quality, just a little stiffer. The only downside is that you have to have a lift to put them on and loosen the stabilizer to get the length. I feel safer on highway bumps. I'll…
