Not happy with the new shocks and struts on my 2013 Toyota Tacoma

Four struts were installed at a local tire shop. It cost me over $500, most of the cost was for replacing the frames. At first I was unsatisfied. Second, the truck ride is way worse than the old 6 year old 72,000 shocks and struts that I removed from the truck. and racks on my truck.

Amazing ride and height

I put the second set in and they are perfect. Very easy to install and configure. I went to a 2.5" setup and now the front is higher than the back so I'm going to put in a set of blocks for the back to actually align them. This set was mounted on a 2005 Tacoma PreRunner 4.0L crew cab, 20X9 zero offset wheels and 285/55/20 A/T tires with virtually no friction issues and feels like a tiring ride. I would still go for the 5100.

What an upgrade! for shocks, struts and suspension

If you drive a 2005-2015 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab SR5 V6 Off-Road Package you need these front shock absorbers. The truck comes with a Bilstein 4600 which is an instant upgrade. I leveled the truck by setting the shocks to 1.5 inches, it raised the front just enough to make it look good, but it's not "moonshine" (front bumper is higher than rear) . Simply find a tire dealer near you. with a spring compressor and let them switch places; These springs are thick and I wouldn't trust them to a…

Best past experience

I wanted to raise the machine 1.5" but my spring compressor (charging port) is of lower quality so I was only able to raise it 0.85". My wish was to bring the car closer to the level / remove part of the rake. The height from the ground to the top of the wheel arch was 33 inches before installation. I expected about 34 inches after that. Inexplicably I'm closer to 39" and now it's set at 38". So far I'm not very happy with the result and don't expect it to settle for another 4". I don't know…

If you are installing on a relatively new suspension like me

These will fit a 2016 Tacoma 4x4 if anyone is interested. I just installed them. Each order gives you 1 shock and each shock comes with a locking ring, a nylon coated top nut to prevent loosening and a bottom spring plate/retainer. If you're installing a relatively new suspension like me, this is all you need. If not, you'll have to buy bushings, washers and all that. Either way, it's a good shock absorber. And if you surf the Toyota/Tacoma forums, you'll find that a lot of people love them…

BUY BUY BUY! over shocks, struts and suspension

Yes, it's amazing. The best money I've ever spent. The best return on your money. These 5100s sit day and night in stock or on a wash lift (spool seal). I threw my 3" puck lifter in the trash after installing it. Put the maximum setting 2.5 and drives like a dream. Excellent handling, tight corners and a very smooth ride. Easy to install with a serpentine compressor or do it at the $50 store. My advice for a better ride that stays in target spec and looks good is to get a 1" diff washer (on the

Ride quality and looks have been greatly improved!

Installed on a 2003 4runner 2WD and set to 1.75 and they lined up perfectly! The best thing about these positions is that they greatly improve ride quality. Body roll is now almost non-existent and acceleration in corners. No more brake dives! The price is right too! ($99 each). I connected mine to the KYB mounting kit as others have recommended. You have the right price too! ($26 each) and well worth it! heavy duty! In summary, these struts offer better handling, better looks, better frontal…

Just what my truck needs

I bought these with the intention of upgrading my 13 Tacoma Sport 4x4. But after reading on the Tacoma forums that other people were having issues with transmission vibration even on a .85, I decided to leave them at the factory settings. I use my truck as a daily driver so any weird issues just because I wanted to look better seemed ridiculous (been there, done). All I can say is that they make truck driving so much better. Other reviews and forums say the ride is a bit stiffer than the stock…
