Most people can get away with it, they're so tall. It would be nice to see what these antennas are really capable of, but luckily for me my computer is on the other side of a wall no thicker than 6-7 inches from where the wireless router is. I bought these to upgrade the short antennas on some of my routers and music streamers with external antennas. However, all of these devices require a MALE connector with a small pin in the middle to connect to the device. Although advertised as MEN, they are not; They have a socket (no center pin). Used male and female G6 coaxial cable adapters to extend the XM antenna approximately 75 feet beyond the length of the factory antenna cable. An adapter connects to the receiver at one end of the F-connector coax cable, and the F-connector adapter connects to the factory XM antenna cable at the other end of the coax cable.
