You get what you pay for

I wasn't expecting much for the price so I wasn't surprised at the quality when I opened the box. This is a very cheaply made lamp that meets my needs. It was meant for looks, not function. But apart from that, it had deep scratches right out of the box, and there are some scratches on the lens as well. Also not included is the hardware to attach the actual mount to the forks. I return this light. Would rather not buy the hardware to install a scratched headlight on my bike.

Very cheap weak

Don't buy this with the intention of seeing where you're going at night. Try your luck with echolocation or point a long stick in front of the bike. This is primarily to make your bike look a bit retro-cool and to stop a stubborn cop from pestering you with "bikes need headlights at night". God, thank you, Officer Buzz Killington. Mine flickers and is less reliable than Comcast's regular internet connection, but it's pretty cheap compared to other bike lights.

Bright, feels solid

I bought this to replace the stock headlight on my Babboe City E - the original headlight had 3 low power LEDs and the plastic bracket broke with any attempt to glue it on. The globe lantern here is much sturdier, with metal brackets and a metal body, and is about twice as bright as the old lantern. My only concern is that the hinge front doesn't seem to snap in very firmly, despite being secured with a screw, and that it can soak up water when it rains. Installation was easy though as I…

Broke after 3 uses

Installation was a bit tricky but easy enough. The front latch is difficult to open, which is good for driving, but I should have seen the red flags when I even installed the batteries, and the actual case was thin plastic that bent when the batteries were installed. On the second day, the toggle switch would not turn the light on. I thought the batteries were bad so I went to change them and then it REALLY turned on when I was about to replace them. After that I used it again, at which point I

Just for looks - headlights

If you're trying to give your bike a cheap, retro look, it should get 3-4 stars. But if it's supposed to be really useful, it gets 1 star.1. Inexpensive assembly. Ok $13 but still. The front locking mechanism is horrible and not at all watertight, and the battery compartment on mine popped off right away2. Battery life. It's mediocre at best. What's really awful is that the 5-position switch (there's off and then 4 on positions, still the same output) can be put in the on position VERY easily…
