Much cheaper than new cabinets!

I had several closet doors that didn't close completely. These hinges were an exact replacement for a part the builder used some 20 years ago. Simply unscrew the old loop and screw on the new one. My cupboards now close properly. This item only includes the hinges (and screws) that are typically attached to the cabinet door. YES - suitable for the exact replacement of defective COMPACT 33 hinges!

Yes those original BLUM COMPACT 33 hinges with plastic inserts don't last forever BUT same goes for HD&L replacement metal springs. As the 1 star reviews say I agree that it does there is probably a better choice than this NEUBAU hinge. However, I live in a 20 year old house with a lot of these cabinet hinges in very nicely made cabinets that I don't want to rip out. We are now in the second cycle of replacing the most commonly used hinges (like the trash can that sits under the kitchen sink)…

Replacing very old (ten year old) latches of the same type - a caveat

I got these when the old latches on kitchen cabinets broke. The original locks were installed in the 70's I believe. These new bars had to fit together exactly (a lot of research was done), but there was a problem. The smaller part of the latch that rotates outwards with a single screw (let's call this part A) is offset from the main part (part B) to stretch a little further than the original latches.
