Description of Bodum Grinder Electronic Continuously Adjustable

The Bistro Burr Grinder consistently crushes beans between stainless steel conical burrs. This process also preserves the bean’s intrinsic flavor and aroma better than a blade grinder. Push button, pre-set timer allows users to grind the exact amount of coffee needed, keeping beans fresh and preventing waste. 12 Adjustable grind settings allow users to go from Espresso to French Press with ease. Equipped with a friction clutch, which protects the grinding gear by the presence of small stones. Dishwasher-Safe Borosilicate glass catcher with grip reduces static cling of coffee grounds. Holds up to 7.75 Ounces of Coffee Beans.

The surface has become sticky over the years

Bought about 6 years ago. Very suitable as a meat grinder. I like the rubberized case best. After 2-3 years it got sticky. It is difficult to clean and using water will not get rid of the sticky feeling. Tried Lysol wipes, didn't help. Now I don't touch the body as I only have to control the cup, lid and switches. I don't know if they changed the case material now, if not then it's better to change it.

BEWARE! Plastic gears between motor and grinder

I have to say I liked the coffee grinder while it worked. Constant grinding and the glass jar was less static than some of the others I've used with plastic jars. After about 14 months (not even daily, maybe 5-6 grinds a week) one of the plastic drive gears broke. See my picture above. It started making a terrible noise, then fragments of the mechanism rained down on my counter. Bodum doesn't sell spare parts, so it ends up in the trash. I tried emailing their US support but they never…

Great coffee grinder if you can figure out how to clean it!

Grinds evenly and finely. It's easy to use and fast. Two problems prevent him from being great. First, grinders keep falling out of the machine after grinding and removing the glass jar. Also, static electricity builds up in the cup, which keeps some of the coffee grounds out of the way when the cup is emptied. The only way I've found to solve the static electricity problem is to wait at least 10 minutes after grinding to remove the mug. Second, the instructions are very minimal and useless…

Good machine, efficient and attractive

Note: As it will turn out, we have a white machine. I can't say anything about the appearance of the other colors. We have tried many coffee grinders over the years and this is by far the best. The white color is attractive and goes well with the color of the kitchen (this is important for the woman). The funnel looks like it's going to take up a lot of space, but it really doesn't, so we're all excited about that. The lid is just a flat top so it's easy to remove and empty the beans (usually…

Worked well for a $100 grinder while it worked. Fairly consistent grinding and cleaning only required every 2 months although I usually I am using oily dark roast. But eventually the plastic retaining ring holding the top millstone broke. It could not be replaced on the Bodum website.I contacted Bodum customer service (no easy process, no support phone number, email only ).Check the parts page on their website to see when the part would be available (there is no way to delay the order or be…

Stuck on first use

I am disappointed and sad that this Bodum grinder did not work. I bought the same model from Revain in February 2011. I've used it at least once a week, every week for 6 years with no problems whatever coffee I put in it. Of course, I had to clean it about once a month, but no more than taking out the stone grinder, tapping it a few times to remove the debris, and rubbing it with a brush. Then I moved and gave this Bodum to my sister. She still has it; She doesn't use it much, but it still…
