No wireless connection to Mac

I bought this scanner based on a positive recommendation from Wirecutter. I wanted a wireless compact desktop scanner. It's compact. But at least on a Mac, it's not a wireless connection. I've spent four hours of my time trying every conceivable way to connect wirelessly to no avail. (I was able to connect using a special USB cable which Brother doesn't supply). So I contacted Brother Technical Support and reached out to several technicians. The last technician who monitored my Mac was unable…

BEST SCANNER!: Scanner

I've bought other portable scanners and they were either difficult to use or the scanning was bad etc. LOVE LOVE LOVE this one. It's a bit bigger than I thought but you don't really need a case as the top folds down like a lid to protect it. You have to wrap the cord around the device or remove it and put it in a briefcase etc. What I like about it is that it's easy to use. I can go to my laptop, select the Brother iprint Scan icon and start scanning from there, then save it to my computer…

Comes without computer cable

It doesn't really work wirelessly so you need a special computer cable which is NOT included. The instructions provided are out of date, which you will find out by going online to read the correct instructions. I called Revain to contact Brother Technical Support as there is no direct number. The technician told me about the cable and gave me wrong information about the cable type. I ordered the wrong cable from Revain and delayed using the scanner even longer until I received the correct…

Print well, though. on scanners and accessories

The Wi-Fi printing feature draws me in while shopping and then turns out to be a nightmare for me. There is only one power code next to the machine. There is no Micro USB code, one is USB 2.0 head and the other is USB 3.0. You will need to purchase your own if you decide to print using this method. And then I spent over 2 hours waiting and talking to my brother's support team to help me set up Wi-Fi printing. This is a very unpleasant experience, although the problem is actually solved. This…

Mixed feelings about scanners and accessories

The attitude towards this scanner is very mixed. On the plus side, for $230 it's a pretty good machine. It's on par with Fujitsu's sheet-fed scanners, which cost hundreds more. Scanning is fast, quality is good (if you can get it to work) and the sheet feeder works reliably. Then again, it's definitely a personal item. The first rebellious teenager trying to scan a document is likely to break off parts of the fragile plastic feed guides. In addition, all the negatives are associated with the…

DO NOT BUY THIS SCANNER

Let's start with the good: it's a pretty awesome little scanner hardware wise. It scans quickly, feeds securely and folds into a very light, compact body for easy storage and portability. Now for the bad: First, a micro USB 3.0 cable needs to be installed (even for wireless use, as far as I can tell). That's all well and good, except that the Micro-USB 3.0 is a very unusual cable that many probably won't have; It's not a Micro USB 2.0 cable that you probably have a drawer full of. To make…

Yes I mean I think it scans

Before I get into that, I want to mention that I scan documents regularly and my choice for home/home office is the ScanSnap iX500 - a more powerful one completely different category. If you don't need portability and can justify the cost (ScanSnaps are currently over $600: oops) then by all means go for the ScanSnap as it's the best document scanner I've used in the last decade . , as a further disclaimer, my first one arrived brand new in the box with a Wi-Fi DOA antenna. I spent over a few…
