Functional! in Wine Stoppers & Pourers

This works exactly as intended and actually helps keep some of the fizz out of the champagne residue which is more impressive than some of the other rubber stoppers we've used in the past. ! It fits perfectly in the bottle opening and appears to be pretty airtight! Plus, it's super easy to clean in the dishwasher! He has no complaints at all!

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Empty

I say buy! - Wine Corks & Fillers

Looks simple enough and works well without getting rusty and rough like metal corks. It's not always a perfect stopper, so if you're going to "cork" your expensive bottle for a few days, I wouldn't use it. But it's perfect for simply capping a bottle that will be ready in a day or two (and preferably chilled white wine).

Bubbles stay!: Wine cork

I like the idea of having a separate stopper for sparkling drinks. So often we just pop the cork back in or feel like we should be drinking our champagne drinks right now. But not anymore! It's easy to use and attractive! We won't store fizzy drinks for more than a few days, but this cute stopper does a good job of keeping fizzy drinks fresh.

You Can't Stop Science

At its best, a depressurized bottle will release CO2 until a certain equilibrium is reached. The more the bottle is empty, the less gas is left behind. So I wouldn't expect the fizz to last more than a few days. And while this can prevent more air from entering the wine bottle, it still leaves air out of the open bottle. Basically it is a temporary measure, not a preservation. It's ok for what it's designed for, a temporary cover. But don't expect miracles.

No more wasted champagne or prosecco.

Some of my favorite cocktails are made with either champagne or prosecco. I've always paid more for it at restaurants because it never made sense to open a whole bottle of champagne or prosecco to make 1 or 2 cocktails out of a whole bottle. So it was pretty exciting to get this seal. Bubbles don't last forever, but we can assume the bottle will last at least for the weekend. In other words, from French 75s or Spagliatos on Friday/Saturday nights to Mimosa, Bellinis or Kir Royales for Sunday…

BUILT NY Bottle Capper - Big but Efficient

This BUILT NY Wine Bottle Capper is of high quality. It's made of BPA-free silicone, so you don't have to worry about it leaching into your drink. It is suitable for all bottles. And it can be washed in the dishwasher for easy cleaning. They advertise an "ergonomic design" that makes it easier to close tightly. Compared to every other bottle sealer I have used, this one is very large. With a few twists this works well. Maybe the larger size makes it more ergonomic, although I'm not sure. This…

The Bubbly Lives On

Finally, there is a way to make sparkling wines more frothy than usual by using typical corks or replacing the original cork. This is a great BPA free device that is unlike any other. It overcomes the typical rounded edge of the bottle and dips into the bottle underneath. Previously, you either had to consume the entire content at once, or you could sustain a level of effervescence for a very short period of time (hours or less than a day). We found that the bubbles in our sparkling wine lasted

Pros
  • Top marks for hold and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Three Day Bubbles

I love champagne cocktails from time to time, but mixing them at home isn't practical unless you're sharing champagne or prosecco with a crowd. Bubbles don't hold up well and I'm definitely not going to drink the whole bottle in one night. I've used one of these vacuum sealers to keep my red wine for a few days, but it didn't work with champagne. I was excited to try this champagne bottle sealer. I don't know how it works, but it works. This plug does not need to be inflated at all. Just push…

Works just as well as other stoppers.

The problem with most cava/champagne sealers is how they seal the bottle. In most cases, they are "latched" to the same collar that the cage uses to secure the cork. This usually works, but some bottles have a round neck, meaning the cork will fly off. Built NY Sealant solves this problem by using an expanding "cork" system. The portion of sealant placed in the bottle expands to form a seal as it is rotated. This is good because it ignores the problems inherent in collar locks. This is bad…
