Finally a USB-C-HDMI cable that actually works

I brought a third-party C-HDMI cable with sound (normal audio playback with pause/cut in milliseconds). I ended up bringing this cable from Cable Matters to replace and it works great! I don't notice any lag in graphics or audio. The outer diameter of the cable is smaller than my old cable and the jacket material seems flexible. No driver required, just plug and play. Don't look for C-HDMI, this is the cable you need!

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • Big and chunky

Works with my 2016 MacBook Pro and Samsung 65 " 4K TV (UN65NU800D)!

Plugged in and it went to 30Hz automatically. It took me a while to get to 60Hz to figure out how i can get it to work with my samsung tv you need to first go to the settings menu on your samsung tv and enable the HDMI UHD color option this will allow 60hz my macbook + tv restarted next you need to go to the Go to macOS Display Settings, hold down the Option key while pressing Zoom, check the Low resolution box, which allows you to choose the refresh rate, and then press 60 Hz.

Bought this cable to connect my 2019 MacBook Pro (Touchbar; i9; 16GB; Radeon Pro 560X 4GB) to my 4K HDMI 2.0 TV (TCL 43S525). Only gets to 30Hz. 60Hz was selectable but as soon as I did that the display flickered and went to "No Signal". I also tried this on my LG OLED display, same result. I tried an AppleTV 4K on the same TCL display and the AppleTV was able to output 4K 60Hz (and even HDR and Dolby Vision at 4k 60Hz). I'm disappointed - Cable Matters has been pretty good in the past.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities

Fragile? But great customer service

I originally gave this cable 1 star because mine broke after accidentally bumping it while moving some equipment. It was my fault but to be honest the cable should have been stronger to not break so easily. Cable Matters offered to replace it even though the damage was my fault. They sent me a new cable for free and didn't even make me send the original back (I already threw it away). The new cable has arrived and is currently in use and working. We'll see if it lasts or not. I still doubt if…

Mac users - this will drive your 4k TV/monitor at 60Hz!

Feel free! Obtain! I bought this to connect my 2017 MBP directly to a 40" Samsung 4K TV and use as a computer monitor to replace my 1080P dual setup. Fair enough to warn that I don't play games, so 60Hz is enough for performance. for...email sake, data analysis and creative work. It lets you control 4K resolution at 60Hz - as advertised. However, if you are a Mac user, you need to make some adjustments. Google: A patch to enable 60Hz on a MacBook Pro, you can find it from 9to5mac onwards. Read…

Very happy with these cables!

I ordered USB-C to HDMI cables for our office - our new Dell laptops only have Thunderbolt/USB-C ports. We tried third-party docking stations to connect an HDMI monitor and USB 2/3 devices. Dock cable connectors were not properly seated in the USB-C port or USB devices such as the Logitech Unifying Receiver were not working. We ended up ordering Bluetooth keyboard/mouse combos for all new PCs for about $95 per user. With these cables, a standard user desktop configuration costs about $115 per…

This 10ft cable is great for connecting a late 2016 MB Pro to a 4K TV.

I bought this cable to connect my late 2016 13" MacBookPro to a 55" LG 4K TV. I've been using Airplay to display photos from Adobe Lightroom on a 4K TV, but my AppleTV is an older model that caps the resolution at 1920x1080. When I connected the TV with this cable, the MacBookPro immediately recognized the LG 4K TV and the increase in resolution on the TV screen was easy to see. Signage text in some photos that was unreadable using Airplay on the TV was clearly readable using this cable to make

Works with Surface Pro 7 and Surface Dock 2!

I've been through several USB-C to HDMI 2.0 cables. All had unreliable connections, which I found to be a common problem with Surface Docks, i.e. the Surface device detects external monitors but the monitor isn't receiving a signal, or the Surface screen turns on/off as if trying to connect external monitor. After a few days of research I found out that the cables that people have been using with no problems are gold plated. Coincidence? I'm not sure. I replaced my Surface Tablet, Surface 2…
