Description of Caliper TUTOOLS Piston Spreader Ratchet

【Save time and much easier to use】TUTOOLS brake caliper piston Saves time and much easier to use than most other ratchet caliper tool. It also fits nearly all brake caliper press ratchet. It will even push the big 4-piston calipers in evenly, smoothly, and quickly. 【Premium material】TUTOOLS car ratchet brake piston is equip with extra 2pcs steel plates (4-5/8L x 2-3/8H)perfect fit for Single, Twin or Quad Piston Calipers. 【Easy to use】The ratcheting caliper tool pads stay parallel so you can easily press back single piston, dual piston or four piston brake calipers with it. The spreader tool don't bind since they're being pushed straight back into the caliper bore. There's no real effort needed to move them back just place the tool in the caliper and ratchet the piston(s) out of the way. 【Warm Tips】Without pressure pushing inward on the spreaders, you will not be able to ratchet the tool in or out. If the tool is set smaller than the space between the piston and caliper edge, you will need to push against the spreader until it touches the metal of the caliper. 【Excellent Service】We TUTOOLS Team provide 24 months customer service and 30 days money back for all TUTOOLS products ,if you do not satisfied with our item, we can provide you best solutions to satisfy you.

Fixed Ratchet

As mentioned by others the ratchet is quite stiff and tight. You really need to prevent the center spindle from turning or until you press the sides of the tool against the pistons before the ratchet will start to engage on its own. You will need 3-4 hands to do this. I come back.

Pros
  • Quality Construction
Cons
  • Factor Set

Worked for a caliper. As if.

Received today and used immediately. I squeezed a caliper and it broke. Blocked me during propagation and couldn't undo it. As a result, he got out of the caliper and the lever did not turn until a small ball bearing fell out and rolled. It won't work at all. However, a neat idea with a small magnet to hold larger pads.

Pros
  • Very fast delivery
Cons
  • Contact seller

Cheap derailleur in caliper piston

Looks like this would be a great caliper tool but I ordered one and the ball bearing in the derailleur fell out when I took it out of the box! Didn't even get around to using it. So sent back and got another one but he did the same thing when he flipped the switch back and forth the bearing fell out again! Don't order this tool, cheap switch will make it useless.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Long wait

Bought new, used?

The tool appears to be used. It's already covered in brake dust, and that's my hand out of the box and ratchet in hand. I'm not a mechanic and my hands were very clean before opening. It seems to be working well but I'm honestly a little taken aback that when I buy a new one I'm getting an obviously used item. I'm not sure what I'll do yet, maybe I'll send it back.

Pros
  • Nice item
Cons
  • Only available in white

Good concept if it can work

Defective immediately. The key turns, but nothing happens. Not a complicated tool, so let it get the job done. I did not test this tool before jacking up the car and removing the wheels and old brake pads. Everything is ready to compress the cylinder with this new tool but it never worked. Had to reinstall everything that was taken apart to go to the hardware store to get a c clip to complete the install. A few hours lost. Why me?

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

Extremely cheaply made

This tool has been awarded as the cheapest tool I have ever owned. I took it out of the thinnest box (more like cardboard), looked for 30 seconds and set up my return. The ratchet clicks are very coarse and require a lot of turning. The plastic handle looks like it was made from the world's first plastic mold and the rivets holding the plastic to the metal base look very flimsy. One of them wasn't even properly riveted. Recently, Revain has started filling up on cheap Chinese junk.

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • old

A simple tool to save time.

The tool works great. As with any ratchet, it needs some pressure to work properly, otherwise it will turn without a ratchet. Some have complained about this, but it's very easy to squeeze it a bit to make it snap into place until it gets enough pressure to depress the caliper piston. The extra large plate allowed the two piston calipers to compress on my Mercedes. For quick expansion before inserting the tool into the caliper, you can rotate one side and bring it closer to the desired width…

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Exchange availability

Mechanics don't "NEED " every tool, but this one is pretty cool.

This is useful for squeezing the caliper piston so you can put fresh pads back on almost all calipers using a piston that compresses the pads on the brake disc. If you have a swivel car you'll probably need a socket wrench, but that's really rare. Make sure you know what type of calipers you have - can they compress or do they rotate? For most amongst all calipers, this tool works extremely well - once you get pressure you can use the socket design to open the ratchet to push the calipers out…

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Nice try, but don't reinvent the wheel here.

I also needed a caliper compressor to work. Anyone who uses this type of compressor knows it's best to use it, but this isn't the answer. I run 350-659 so the calipers are pretty big. I was hoping this would open up more than the old style because I have to place a pad between the tool and the caliper pistons to push them all the way back so the bolts don't come out of the tool. It opens to almost the same length. The worst part is the magnets that hold the spreader plates in place. It's okay…

Pros
  • So far everything seems to be
Cons
  • Negative is present
