The odor is strong but not unpleasant to me. My daughter didn't like the smell and didn't use it. I like the smell and it seems more soothing than other collars I've used before. I have a feral cat that I just caught and put in a very large dog crate with food, water, a bed and a potty. I put one of those collars on the cage and he got a lot quieter and quieter waiting to be neutered.

This product may work for others but that is our experience. Problems with cats urinating near the litter box. Bought soothing collars in store with positive results so next time we tried buying them online. These collars did NOT fit our cats.
