Description of Cardone Select 13 2571 Master Cylinder

Only O.E.-quality seals and cups are used to ensure O.E. performance and reliability. All rubber components meet S.A.E. specifications. Bores meet critical micro-finish specifications to eliminate pitting and corrosion, a cause of premature failure. Castings feature a premium protective coating to minimize corrosion and extend unit life. Seals are temperature-cycled from -30°F to +220°F to ensure reliable performance during your daily commute and plastic reservoirs are vacuum-tested to ensure they are leak free. Mounting hardware and bleeding kits are supplied with every unit to make the installation and bleeding process faster and easier (where applicable).

Works well with the braking system

I prefer to buy new master cylinders rather than reconditioned ones. Saving $25 compared to an auto parts store makes this purchase a no-brainer.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Poorly designed

Did the job on my '96 Accord

Did a great job on my '96 Honda Accord EX. I may be the slowest mechanic in the world, but it took me less than 20 minutes to remove the old master cylinder, then fill, bleed, and install the new one. No wheel bleeding required. I was perfectly happy and then less than 2 weeks later a juvenile bug crashed into it while parked on the street outside our house and ended up with a Honda. OK. I think any garage will have a good almost new master cylinder for a lucky person.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Has a few nuances
