Not just for dogs, kittens need chew toys, too.

I have a 4 mo old kitten who, when she gets excited, turns her wrestling matches with me into biting matches. I was napping on the sofa today, when she started chewing on my feet. I was able to reach the shrimp on the floor and tossed to her. She immediately switched to chewing the shrimp. She's a little afraid of it, so it makes a good enemy. I'm very glad Ibought her a chew toy. I've always considered them only for dogs. I don't use the cat nip.

Pros
  • Our cats love this but are the tail off :(
Cons
  • Cats do not play with it. I have two adult cats a two 5 month old kittens.

Cats ran away. for my opinion

"Hooman wut iz dis crazy thing?!? You gave me dis and it made the scariest loudest kerplunk and I ran for my life. I can't pick it up cuz it too heavy an it just scary. Make it go away."This is what all 4 of my cats said when i threw it in their general direction. It has been since then moved into a corner by one of the scaredy cats and not touched since then. I thought they would like it for the little firm feetsies since my cats like the corner wall scratchers and they like their teeth and…

Cat loved it but falls apart

My cat loved this. It was a great alternative for him to chew on instead of other things around the house. Unfortunately, even though I cut off the tiny legs(I was rightfully worried) he still managed to decapitate it and started puking up huge chunks of the rubber. I got worried about him so I threw the rest away. Nothing seems to be durable enough for my 4 month Bengal kitten.

Pros
  • Safe and nontoxic materials
Cons
  • The toy may be too small for some cats to interact with

Cats are frightened by the creepy toy

I was so looking forward to having my cats clean their teeth while playing with a fun toy. I was so wrong. It ended up a YouTube video of cats scared of cucumbers. It’s much larger than I expected. 7 inches long. As soon as I unboxed it thought to myself hmm. seems a little to big for kitties mouths but, we’ll see. Not the fun and playfulness I was hoping for.I’ve packed it with catnip and still they avoid it like a wild bull dog.I know all cats are different so, if your so inclined give it a…

Pros
  • Helps to promote overall cat health
Cons
  • The toy may not provide enough variety in texture for cats who enjoy different types of toys

Buy with caution: caused bowel obstruction

My cat LOVED this toy. His favorite thing to chew on. He would hug it and chew it and his eyes would roll back because he was so happy. He pulled a couple of the legs off and began chewing pieces off, so I bought a new one and threw away the old one. When the new one arrived, he immediately bit into the tail and off came the corner. I couldn't find the piece and was worried that he'd swallowed it. I looked at the reviews to see if anyone had had a bad outcome with the toy but I didn't see…

Pros
  • Prevents bad breath
Cons
  • The toy may not be suitable for senior cats with limited mobility

Tough little toy! Catnip has found its home!

My cats aren’t usually interested in toys unless you consider raw catnip all over the floor a toy! I was looking for something that wouldn’t make a mess of letting them enjoy catnip - enter this little shrimp looking toy, it’s easy to "hold” cat nip, it came with 2 little pouches but didn’t seem effective so I put some raw loose inside and am that did the trick, they won’t leave it alone now! They carry it around everywhere! It’s slightly flexible not too hard but doesn’t have a ton of "give”…

Pros
  • Stimulates natural instincts
Cons
  • The toy may not be effective for cats who are already used to traditional toothbrushes

Not our cats' favorite

These are nice quality toys and would definitely help keep your cats' teeth clean if they actually chew on it. My cats did not seem to enjoy chewing on them, though. We have three cats. The smallest one thought they were too heavy to play with, so she lost interest immediately. Our middle child batted one around for a couple days until the catnip insert wore off, then he got bored. Our chonky boy spent the most time playing with them - he kicked a shrimp around, rubbed on it, carried it around…

Pros
  • Helps to get rid of plaque
Cons
  • The toy may not appeal to cats who do not like the taste of rubber

Meh - OK for $1, but way over priced at $9!

This cat toy/"tooth cleaner" was a failure for my cats - they have ZERO interest in it. From the pictures, I thought it may be jointed - but it is a solid piece of soft rubber like material. It should be priced at a dollar or two - so it is well over-priced. The promised cat nip was not attractive to my cats and from what I can tell, you will need long tweezer to remove the cat nip bag from the toy. It came with a broken bell (no noise) that is a choking hazard. The bell is just loose in the…

Pros
  • Saves money on dental checkups and treatments
Cons
  • The toy may not be sturdy enough for rough play

Fun for most cats for my opinion

There can be a plastic smell at first. Make sure you wash it thoroughly and let it air dry for a while before giving it to your cat. Remove the catnip bag before washing it

Pros
  • ✓ YOUR CAT'S NEWEST OBSESSION - The second your kitty gets a taste of our addictive toy, they won't be able to put it down. We have catnip & a playful bell tucked inside that keeps your cat's attention for hours.
Cons
  • The toy can be easily lost due to its small size

You can please everyone, if they're a cat!

I thought it was a dinosaur, raptorpede, something, but now that I have it, it looks like a giant shrimp! So cute! It smelled a little funny fresh from the factory, so we let it air out. On the second day, we put the catnip and bell inside, and the cat plays with it, sleeps with it, and carries it around like a pet of her own. We've named it Zhrimptor, the zombie dinosaur shrimp. My cat can tear through a pair of pants with ease, so I am amazed the dinoshrimposaur has made it this long. I was…

Pros
  • Promotes healthy gums
Cons
  • The toy may be too difficult for some cats to control during play

Cats didn't like it at all.

The toy came as expected, though I thought that it would be a little smaller. If it were smaller my cats might of played with it, but it was a bit heavy and bulky for them, even for my cat that loves to chew anything plastic. Was a bit big for their mouths to chew on even if they are full size cats. A kitten might have a hard time with this toy.

Pros
  • My cat is having lots of fun with this
Cons
  • Some cats may not like the smell of catnip

This is a great grooming tool!It took a while for me to get my cats interested, they were a little scared at first so I stuck some treats in the hole and they warmed up pretty fast.I have a cat who is an aggressive chewer and can cut through all my computer cables in seconds, but will chew with all his might on this and it has survived. We incorporated it into brushing time, so he brushes his teeth and doesnt eat my arm. He is quite happy having something to gnaw on, I'm happy with the way his…

Pros
  • Pet Supplies
Cons
  • The toy may be too bulky for cats who prefer lighter toys

Whomp whomp on my review.

I didn’t like this. We purchased for our teething kitten in hopes she would use this toy instead of our hands. It’s really rather large. And hard. Her mouth isn’t big enough to chew on it and I don’t see how it will be anytime soon. It’s not something my older, full grown cats were interested in either.

Pros
  • A unique and innovative product
Cons
  • The toy may be too challenging for cats who are not accustomed to using toys for dental care

Strong rubber smell

My cat loves textures to rub against, so I thought she would like that a, but the strong rubber smell scares her. I tried washing it, putting the catnip in it, spraying with catnip spray and finally I put treats inside thinking the smell would overpower the rubber but so far no luck. Maybe it will with time.

Pros
  • Provides a massage to the gums
Cons
  • The catnip may attract other animals, such as rodents or insects

Cat does not care for it

I presented this to my cat right out of the packaging. He was interested in it because it was something novel but as soon as I let him have it, he became disinterested pretty quickly. The body of the toy is pretty hard and the little legs feel as though they can get chewed off easily. The bags of catnip don't smell like catnip. I don't know what is in them but my cat didn't care for them.

Pros
  • Engages cats in dynamic play
Cons
  • The toy may not be able to withstand exposure to extreme temperatures

Durable, but untouched

Bought this for 2 chewy furballs.(one likes to chew on the corners of anything plastic/laminated, the other likes to chew ELECTRICAL cords. Neither will take even the slightest interest in this thing. Tried with and without bell, tried catnip that came with it, tried my own catnip and even tried treats inside. Cats completely ignored this. That said, this was packaged well, and had quick delivery. Natural rubber smell is a bit strong, but washes out. Every bit as durable as touted. Only…

Pros
  • Relieves boredom for indoor cats
Cons
  • The toy may not be suitable for cats with allergies to rubber or latex

My cat is not impressed

This teething toy is well made but my cat has absolutely no interest in it. Hasn’t played with it a single time, and yes, I put catnip in it.

Pros
  • Made from durable hard rubber
Cons
  • The toy may not be as effective as traditional toothbrushes for dental care
