For 5 stars you need a better latch

The angle adjuster tends to move too much. The "lock" mechanism is easy to break, which means I have to be very careful every time I use it. I think this is a big problem as I want and need a tool that can be taken off the workbench and used with the confidence that the angle setting will be the same as last time and not wobbling under the pressure of my knife or pencil. .

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • There are flaws

Can be a great tool if you want to take your time

This is a great concept and almost a great product. The fit and finish is terrible, all corners are razor sharp, nothing is factory cleaned. You can cut yourself at the corners. The swivel was terribly loose and sloppy. For something in this price range it has to be a "signature series" it's terrible. After spending some time getting it finished the way it should be and securing and installing the hinge so it doesn't suck, this will be a fantastic tool.

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Slightly Crumpled

This item gets a 5 star rating for a reason. That's great.

Great tool. It was expensive, but buying it was one of the best decisions I made on my last project (installing expensive insulated siding on a house). I saved tons of time and money on wasted materials. Note that the "finger roller" latch can lock if you latch it and then move your arms (tips) apart. This is user error, but the leverage you get from spreading the levers can make it almost impossible to open the reel by twisting your fingers. Avoid doing this, but if you do, try compressing it…

It's worth getting used to.

After 20 years of using my old trusty Speed Square it took me a while to get used to it. Remembering not to rotate the whole square seems easy enough, but muscles have memories of their own. Now that I know it, I wouldn't go there again. The longer side (hypotenuse) extends further to trim taller rafters. Switching back and forth between normal and hip angle is much quicker than with "fence" style screw-in stops. I would give 5 stars but the lock worked several times (over 3 months) as it was…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Could be a great tool

I like the functionality of an angle. The problem lies in the locking mechanism of some of the squares produced. As other reviews have noted, the lock does not hold the square in place. This is very unfortunate because an angle could be an ideal tool for many jobs. Sixty dollars is a lot of money to spend on a tool that cannot be relied on to stay where you put it. I'm sure the manufacturer is aware of this issue as several have had the same issue. I understand that in mass production, products

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design

It can be used for an angle of 30°, but not directly or easily because the two sides with strong edges start at 45° and can increase. You can use it indirectly for smaller angles (or subtract, i.e. get 30° by measuring 90° and subtract 60°) or directly with an inside edge (less accessible). So it works, but using it between 0° and 45° is more impractical than I'd like. On the other hand, it's very well made, accurate and secure, with easy-to-read corners and three levels of high-end quality. My

  • Cool product

  • Almost everything is ok

The latch slips at the slightest pressure

Very high hopes were placed in this device. Looks great thanks to the solid aluminum body and laser engraved letters. Three levels of mind. The high fence hugs the edge of the road. Place it on the field, set the spirit level and read the degrees/incline. This part is amazing. The promise of setting the corner once and using it for repeating layouts is great too, except the lock doesn't hold the corner securely. Ideally we would fit it in and then use it as a saw guard. This doesn't work at all

Pros
  • Satisfied
Cons
  • I will write later

This tool works as advertised but if you are looking for Craftsman or Kobalt quality levels this is not it. Multi-angle accuracy is good, but the fit and finish is terrible (hence the 2 stars). The first thing I had to do when taking it out of the box was to break off all the sharp edges and corners so as not to cut myself. The rotating part of the bracket is a little wobbly and doesn't move smoothly. The pan lock locks the angle you want well, but sometimes it's not so easy to unlock, and you…

Useful but very poorly done.

This is an incredibly useful tool and it seems to do exactly what it's supposed to do. That's why there are two stars instead of one. However, it (or at least the one I got) is very poorly made. The product is riddled with stains indicating that the cutter, presumably the end mill, slipped and removed more metal than intended. One side of the fin with all the angle/pitch markings looks like someone literally hand grabbed it with an angle grinder. The rim of the hypotenuse is clearly "curled"…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • A dubious purchase for the elderly
