Don't buy them for power converters

These IP extenders were a waste of money and time. I have connected my IP cameras to these extensions using RG59 coaxial cable with no success. I think I need to rewire my house with category 5 wire.

Works great, easy to work with.

I've tried 3 other Ethernet over BNC baluns, they work great and are a lot cheaper. With a flexible connection and a thinner profile, they are easier to work with. They will not work if the cable is of poor quality or has excessive interference. A good rule of thumb is that if the image on your existing BNC camera has a bit of noise or ghosting, it may not work. If this happened to 1 out of 6 cameras in the existing system. Great, works like a charm1

I had an old analog CCTV system that used Cat5e (with baluns to convert to coax) for analog cameras and a coax DVR was connected. Except for one camera, which was connected via coaxial cable. A dedicated CCTV coaxial cable with a smaller power cable attached to it. I decided to upgrade everything with IP/POE cameras and NVR.
