I had to replace the baskets in my sink. Lowes sold the baskets but NOT the locknut wrench. I was driving myself insane trying to find the right tool, buying this tool and this tool that wasn't wide enough. Then I discovered this channel lock pliers, MADE IN USA!. They work great with 3 1/2 inch sink baskets with plastic or metal lock nuts. Another necessary tool is a tool to hold the center of the basket so you can adjust the basket properly. It was either this tool or plumbing. too expensive.

The right tool for the job. I installed a new sink and this tool was needed in two places. There is a thin cast brass lock nut, a washer over it and then a heavy duty Mack rubber washer that seals the bottom of the sink where the drain hole for the drain pipe is. These narrow wide pliers make it easy to grip and tighten that thin brass lock nut . It leaked at first, so I removed the nut and applied a very generous amount of cane grease.
