The copper plating is very thin and easy to erase

Bought this kettle 4 years ago. I spent extra money on a copper kettle and thought it would be a great addition to all the other copper in my kitchen. I regret this purchase. I have a lot of copper kitchen utensils and know very well how to take care of copper. However, even with great care and following the company's instructions, copper will wear out. I now have a stained copper teapot that makes me angry every time I think about it, which happens quite often since I use it every day. Too bad

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Concerns

My first classic Chantal stainless steel kettle lasted over 10 years so I wasn't upset when he failed. I replaced it with a second stainless steel classic teapot less than a year ago which was a huge disappointment. It has a small but constant leak at the bottom of the seam where the spout connects to the body of the kettle. It flows silently into the kettle and fills my gas stove. It would be fine if I didn't fill it above that seam, but my kettle requires me to fill the kettle to this point…

  • can be damaged

I will never buy this product again. Within 3 months of purchase and after minimal use the paint was chipping on the outside and inside of the kettle. It could no longer be used as the interior paint was peeling off from the water. The teapot was also rusty on the inside where the paint had peeled off. The screw that fastens the small handle to the lid of the teapot was also often unscrewed and torn off. I contacted Chantal hoping for a replacement as the kettle was poor quality and I had only…

The whistle is great! My husband and I really hear it

The whistle is wonderful! My husband and I really. The kettle is wonderful on our stove. UPDATE 1: It's been about a year and I'm so disappointed. The interior of our Red Enamel Chantal has a "lining” that goes nowhere: Premium "Broiler” enamel lining provides added durability for long-lasting performance. Today I discovered that this inner surface is crumbling. There is a hole at the bottom, a dead point that is still eroding and falling into the water! How can any company make an $84 kettle…

Dangerous/Hazardous Enamel glass interior shattered in coffee/tea

This is our second kettle. The first lasted many years. It went like this for a month! A major concern is the peeling of enameled glass, which can be digested. The photo shows different sizes. Check out other similar reviews reporting the same issue. That is the first and most important message. Second, pay attention to the promotional claim: High quality "boiler" enamel lining provides added strength for lasting performance. In the long term, 2 months would have to mean for this statement to…
