Makes a Mess: Coffee Grinders

It is suitable for regular coffee grinding, but really lacks the ability to grind coffee very finely. I have better results with my antique Zassenhaus windmill and less mess. This machine makes a terrible mess when you take out the plastic container that holds the ground coffee. The grind setting doesn't actually match the grind you get, regardless of the setting. The transparent plastic container for ground coffee is VERY FRAGILE, cracks and breaks easily. See attached picture

I have been using this product for 7 months. PRO: It works well for an inexpensive coffee grinder. It ensures a relatively even degree of grinding. CONS: However, the clear plastic ground coffee container is VERY DAMAGED, cracking and breaking easily. See attached picture. irregular grind and mess (updated)

UPDATED REVIEW - the chef contacted me after my review and immediately sent a new grinder, convinced I had received a defective one. I was hesitant to start again, but with such customer service, how not to try again?! Suffice it to say that the second grinder had a more consistent grind, and I enjoy using ground coffee in a French press. I'm still disappointed with how dirty the mill is. Perhaps if the container that collects the ground coffee didn't have a lid it would be less messy, but…

I bought this grinder based on some reviews I read after being disappointed with what the famous brands were offering, again based on the reviews alone. I bought this grinder for about $38 and see it's gone up a lot. I wouldn't pay more for it. I don't think it's worth the extra price increase. A few reasons why: 1. Great value for money grinder

I have read a number of reviews of this type of grinder and wow people can be so picky. Here is some info on this grinder as our previous one was a Cuisinart which we have had for about 4 years. The chef does a great job. The touches are gentle, ranging from natural to almost powerful, fairly quiet (I took Cuisinart into the bathroom in the morning and closed the door so as not to wake everyone up, but no more), takes up a bit of space at a counter, and beans rarely get stuck .
