🚚 Chevy Pickup Silverado GMC Sierra Fuel Pump 1999-2004 4.3L 4.8L 5.3L 6.0L 8.1L w/ Sending Unit & Fuel Pressure Sensor, Replaces E3500M Review

Installed a few weeks ago on my 2002 Silverado 1500 5.3L engine and 175,000 miles. One of the plugs was different, but connecting the cables and plugging in the new plug was a breeze (although I'm sure it turned out uglier than some of you would like). I did it by tilting the bed. Took me about 3 hours from start to finish but I'm just a YouTube mechanic with no formal training. Saved a lot of money by doing it myself. This fuel pump was easy to install and works great. The pump was a perfect match for a GMC Sierra 1500 99 1/2 (new body style). Wiring harness installation instructions along with Goggle locator made hooking it up easy. Wire colors vary, so you'll need to do some research. I would replace the connectors that came with the pump with waterproof ones. You can find waterproof connectors at your local hardware store and they're fairly cheap. Overall I am very happy with this fuel pump.

The fuel pump arrived quickly and well packaged. It worked great the week it was installed. The pump has a newer blade-shaped connector that replaces the old square connector. I would give five stars if the included schematic was really helpful. The writing is so small that I had to use a magnifying glass to read it. The diagram itself is incomprehensible. I had to raise the bed 3 times and the pump was making a low pitched groaning sound on the return line. The pump seems to be working fine, but I'll update when I have longer runs. I pressed the button 3 to 7 times simultaneously (wait 4 seconds). I also partially cranked the engine 3 times.
