I love this yarn Best in yarn

I love this yarn. This yarn is perfect for scarves, panchos or jackets. Very pretty and the perfect size if you don't want to be fat. I think it's 5th weight but very good wool at 70%. I would buy it again and in fact have already done so. Super fast delivery!

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • Very expensive

Satisfied Customer: Knitting & Crocheting

Bought this to make my little one a warm hat for winter - the yarn is soft and heavy so she can dress up nice and warm. I originally bought 2 skeins and just ordered this set of 5 so I can make a few more for my first project.

Pros
  • Test Results Stable
Cons
  • No Shape Required

All's well that ends well :)

I was busy knitting a pair of socks when I noticed how small the second ball was. I knew I wouldn't have enough to finish my socks so I went back to the store where I bought the yarn only to find out it was discontinued! The yarn was a motley collection of bright oranges and purples, so there was no way I could work with a different color and I already had one sock completely finished. In a panic I went to Revain.com and remembered that they sell a lot of different things. I typed what I was…

Pros
  • Always liked
Cons
  • Reliability

Buyer beware of yarn waste

This is not a bulky yarn. You may need an 8mm needle or smaller. Definitely not 9 or 10 mm. 1 strand had numerous knots. I agree with some, but 4 crappy knots a few feet from the yarn?! The knots weren't the worst, untying the knots while knitting was the WORST! Like I bought someone else's leftovers.

Pros
  • SIZE 2 skeins of 100 grams. Only 200 grams of Chunky Melody yarn. Each ball is 114 yards/104 m for a total of 228 yards/208 m.
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Thick, not very soft

Gifted to my daughter. The colors are true. She uses it to make "hair" on a Waldorf-style doll that she has knitted and stuffed. The colors aren't as great as the picture, you can't see the cross yarn colors from 12 inches away. It's not particularly soft. I think it would make a good sweater - being chunky it knits up pretty quickly.

Pros
  • RECOMMENDED NEEDLE SIZE 7-9 US/4.5-5.5 mm. H-8/5 mm hook
Cons
  • thin

This is the same yarn as Yarn Bee Melody Bulky!

Here's the TL;DR version: This yarn happens to be the same yarn as Yarn Bee Melody Bulky formerly sold at Hobby Lobby, but it is has been discontinued. Three years later I bought two skeins and they were exactly the same color. One strand had no knots; one had two. The yarn stretches well, knits neatly and doesn't break. And now for the story. In April 2017 I was contacted by a woman whose daughter died in 2014 with a project still on pins and needles, a hat, and asked me to finish the hat. I…
