Very easy install, works great with USB 1 and 2

I bought this for my iMac but there are comments that may be appreciated by PC users. Now, in addition to my Sony Memory Stick keyboard and mouse, our: -iPod -Palm Pilot -HP printer and -Seagate 4GB hard drive can be connected to our computer at the same time without having to plug and unplug devices. (See our other reviews for details on the above items.) Pros: - Powers "USB 1" and "USB 2" devices that require more power than "USB 1". - Works out of the box, plug and play. As promised - Small…

I bought this hub to use on the go with my business laptop. With only two USB ports and up to five devices, I was looking for a reliable way to connect. Also, I was hoping that with a USB-powered smartphone, I could charge my phone without taking out my laptop. This device does not support any of these scenarios.1. The device will not turn on if it is not plugged into a power outlet and USB port on a laptop.2. I have connected a USB hard drive. As soon as I accessed the directory, the hub…

Does what it's supposed to do

This USB hub works perfectly. I've been using it for a while and haven't had any problems with it. Since I only have two USB2 ports on the back of my computer, this hub solved two problems. I now have extra ports for my camera, IPOD etc and since my USB2 ports are on the back of the computer I keep the hub in the front so I don't have to constantly move the computer to access the ports. The hub is very light, so I put velcro on the side of the computer and on the back of the hub to keep it from

This Linksys USB 2.0 4-port hub works well

I got this up and running on an XP system in 15 minutes, mostly cable wise. The driver software loaded before I even logged in. This is an active USB hub. The study mentioned that electricity helps if you have a device that you plug in that requires electricity. After installation I went to Device Manager, looked at the "Power" tab on this device and saw that out of the three connected devices, two required power from the hub. I'm definitely glad I got the power version. I have connected a USB…

Rare hub with power management on the right

This classic USB 2.0 hub is a treasure. This is a rare model that actually implements the USB 2.0 specification for power management. All hubs must either implement Per-Port Power Switching (PPPS) or disable all ports. PPPS requires a power transistor for each port, while APO requires a power transistor to power all ports. Most manufacturers cheat and skip transistors altogether by directly connecting the Vcc to 5V for all ports. This hub implements PPPS. You need something like [.] to manage…
