Middle Street: Household Goods

It's ok, I'd give it a 5 or 6 out of 10. I use it for the cutting boards I make. Nice smell and texture but no disturbing difference between this and beeswax enriched mineral oil. I leave the latter on all night and polish in the morning. Just as good if not better and cheaper. This item is a little pricey and the end result doesn't give me the WOW factor.

It's way better than I expected!

I was very surprised at how well this worked. I have some new cutting boards (end boards) that I carefully oil and try to get them soft as butter. I applied some of this wax with her applicator and - WOW - I love it. Exactly the feeling I was aiming for on the board. Sprays on well and holds up well. These are good things!

Worth buying! - Household Goods

MAN! A good thing. I found my mother's old wooden cutting board, all faded and scratched. Went to trusted Revane online and found this. I wanted something that would be good for the wood and not go rancid etc. It fit the bill perfectly! A very good product indeed! Smells great and made a HUGE difference to the board. I even bought more for Christmas gifts!

Prevents moisture from getting wet and dirtying my island board

My kitchen island is a chopping board but I never use it for cutting. It was built along with the house in 1980 and still looks great but needs regular waxing to keep liquids from contaminating it. I bought this and a little round spongy applicator and it's the perfect thing to protect my assets. The smell is very mild and after depilation, wipe off excess wax to avoid a film forming on your hands.

I love this product

I love this product. After Harvey we had to remodel almost the entire kitchen and as a cheaper way to get tables we used a butcher block we bought was Brazilian chestnut the natural color was nice but I dried the wood several times with Clarks mineral oil. Until the wood was impregnated we applied a finishing wax and the results were amazing, love my meat block countertop so much. These are the best products for the job.

Excellent food safe seal for wood.

Excellent product. I've used this with Clark's Cutting Board Oil and they worked great together. I've used it on a bamboo board and on a soft pine board that I use for bread baking. It has a great citrus note and compacts the wood very well. I apply three coats to the raw wood, let it sit overnight and then buff it a bit before applying the next coat. Hand cleaning was just soap and water. You have to love any product that works well and smells good. Highly recommend for any wood surface you…

I like it very much!

I used mineral oil and then a different brand of cutting block conditioner. This other conditioner was too heavy for oil and not strong enough for beeswax. Once you soak the board in oil, the other brand won't soak and you won't leave as much wax on the surface. As a result, it didn't fill the grain as well and prevented water from entering. Clarke's finish is a much better mix and fills the pores perfectly. I think it gives a much silkier finish and doesn't feel greasy like the other brand.

good stuff on Wood Polish & Care

Great product. I soaked my new board in regular edible mineral oil (which I already had) and after oiling it daily for a couple of weeks I put it on and it looks fantastic. I didn't get the oil, but I did get the soap, and the soap cleaned my old board and the handles of some wooden knives really well. Wax and soap are highly recommended and if you don't opt for their oil, at least get some regular food grade mineral oil to soak the board before waxing. (or you can get all three of their…

Perfect! suitable for household cleaning

I bought this wax, table soap, oil and sponge to apply. I wish I had bought it years ago! I struggled to get rid of the odors on the board without using too much regular dish soap which I thought would dry out or damage it. Clark's soap worked great - instantly removed the lingering onion and garlic smell. I applied Clarks Oil and left it on for 24 hours. I could already tell it was way better than the old board oil I bought elsewhere - it just felt so much smoother and richer right after I…
