Perfect for Quakers!

My Quaker parrot doctor recommended this 11 years ago when I became their third (and last) person. She's 15 now and takes that 5 pound bath once a month! I'm so glad she accepted! It's good for health and I add turmeric powder to her meal along with 10% fruit/veg plus milk thistle, omega fatty acids, glucomazine (?), baby vitamin C and plain yogurt as recommended by doctor/prescription as she likes it did. Fatty liver and aging, so let's prevent arthritis, cholesterol, etc.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Very expensive

Bird loves cooked

My Quaker doesn't eat these in pellets, but he likes me cooking a little with water on the stovetop (like I make oatmeal) and serving it warm. She seems to get bored of different foods quickly, she suddenly refuses to eat what she used to like, so I sometimes mix it with some oatmeal, rice, quinoa, corn or vegetables when I cook to keep her interested. Sometimes she eats it dry if I break up the granules beforehand, but she definitely prefers to eat it cooked. Not sure if it changes the…

Becomes Dust: Birds

I bought this cockatiel food but it's useless. When my bird eats it, it crumbles into dust and I end up with a bowl full of dust powder that I discard and practically throw away. When I opened the box it was also full of moths so I had to put the huge box in the freezer to kill the larvae in the food. I hate this stuff and regret buying such a big box. My poor bird only has a dust mouth, so almost twice a day I keep filling his bowl with food so he can eat some pellets. I hate throwing…

Highly recommended! - Birds

not sure if it's just luck but we got the cockatiel when it was a few weeks old. His diet consisted of seeds and millet and we were told to keep up with that. So we did. Then he got sick, took him to the vet, long story short they said he could afford to lose some weight and we should start switching him to pellets because the seeds aren't that good for him in the long run are, but they said it will be difficult to get him to leave. Bought with high hopes, it was love at first sight. He took a…

Good, but too many leftovers are left over as waste

I bought this pellet diet after a lot of friends recommended that I switch from a seed-based diet to a pellet-based diet. didn't even get close to the pellets and yelled like they wanted their seeds back but decided to give it a try after a few hours :) After a few days they were eating 100% of this pellet based diet. I'm happy with the product but I feel like there is a lot of waste as when the birds eat the pellets there is a powdery residue that the birds don't eat. Given that a pellet based

Excellent food for cockatiels

Excellent food for cockatiels! My cockatiel was raised seed so my pushy vet forced me to switch to Nutriberry a few years later when her liver was starting to get fat. She didn't like the transition as they were too big for her so he told me to grind them up so she could eat them. I did this for a few years and she seemed to like it, but her liver continued to deteriorate and my vet was unresponsive. Very concerned, I took her to a new vet who was almost ill with liver cancer at the time. The…
