This strap is a real find. I still hear an occasional squeak when I first start the car, but it goes away after I've driven about a half mile. Most of the time there is no creaking at all. I bought this belt for my 2003 Chevy Tahoe with a 5.3 liter engine and a 145 amp alternator. Make sure you know your alternator before purchasing this belt. The 105A alternators use a slightly shorter belt. Fits perfectly, no noise, works great! You will also need a smaller Goodyear V-fin 4040377 Gatorback for the air conditioning on these vehicles. This belt is great. I don't expect my 1998 Buick to be totally silent, but the incessant squeaking of the belt was driving me insane. I tried all the quick fixes and mechanical tricks they suggested but nothing worked. Despite costing twice as much as the previous belt, it was certainly an amazing purchase. 2002 5.3 Chevrolet Tahoe with 231k had a belt squeak that started a few weeks after installing a new belt and turned into a full squeak within a week of the squeak starting. Changed Autozone Dayco belts several times under warranty with the same result. The car has a new idler pulley and tensioner, which was looking a bit worse anyway due to wear, just to mention a few details. Decided to use the Gatorback belt and see how it works.
