Works great with Mac Book Air 2013 or later

Only works with Mac Book Air 2013 or later. A 512GB NVME SSD from Western Digital works great with it. It costs about half what Apple charges and can be done quickly yourself. Just make sure the NVME stick is single-sided. This means that only one side has chips. The other side should be flat (no chips). Once installed, I was able to install Mac OS Big Sur. The operating system installed immediately and is now very fast with 512 GB of memory. (I originally had 128GB of storage and it ran out…

Works great with MacBook Air 2017

I used this to fit an internal Western Digital Blue SN550 1TB NVMe SSD (WDS100T2B0C) and it works great. Comes with a new longer screw to slightly increase the length needed as the SSD is now on top of the adapter. It sits a little higher than I'd like, but I've upgraded to two 2017 MacBook Airs with no issues. I would recommend it to anyone so you can get a bigger SSD without resorting to much more expensive Apple OEM drives or expensive OWC drives.

  • understandable for the old one too

Good speed, good quality. So far, so good.

Just installed on a Samsung 970 Pro 512GB and the read and write speeds on my mid 2015 MacBook Pro are much faster. Increased write speed from approx. 700 MB/s to 2200 MB/s. The fact that the read and write speeds are the same leads me to suspect that there is a speed limit when using this adapter, however the speeds are faster than some of the other brands tested. Interestingly, the same Samsung 970 Pro worked on my PC at about the same write speed but read much faster. An OWC SSD without an…

Looks like a quality part but was manufactured

I ordered this and a 512GB Crucial P1 NVMe module to fit a 2015 13" MacBook Air (A1466). I chose this one Adapters decided because the full size board just felt more secure than the shorter adapters. This part was securely packaged in a sturdy plastic box and static bag, there was no physical damage and it was easy to install but I couldn't get the system going gotten to recognize it with a Catalina or Mojave install image Since these adapters are cheap and I had no other way to test Crucial…

Works and works well.

***No Associate and This is a 100% Genuine Post** I received a used Macbook Air in mid-2013 from a friend whose hard drive failed. I was looking for a compatible replacement drive and saw that they are quite expensive for such little storage space. I decided I wouldn't spend that much money on a 6 year old home lab computer to replace a drive and looked for alternative adapters. Most adapters I found claimed that they would only support certain brands and models of NVMe PCIe drives, and I…

Fits great but you will need a small strip of tape

Connects and screws together easily. Based on numerous online reviews, this is one of the best MacBook upgrade adapters. I chose a 1TB Intel 660p SSD to pair with as I have had many Intel drives and they are well built and the firmware is always compatible. While you could get a much faster Intel 760p SSD for the old 2014 MBP, it was set to 660P, which was fast enough. This adapter worked without issues the first time and gets full 4x PCIe if your MacBook supports it. Some older MacBooks have 4

Installs on old Macs

This product is very profitable. I already bought a standard Kingston M.2 drive and didn't want to pay for another drive (it would be double the price). IF YOU HAVE AN OLD MAC THAT DOESN'T COME WITH macOS High Sierra, YOU CAN'T FOLLOW THE REGULAR INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS! But I found another way. So be prepared to do some silly things and jump through some hoops to make it work. The instructions below help me get it working on my computer (Macbook Pro 12.1 Early 2015). I'm really sorry if this
