Keeps things dry but not for long. Start it in October 2018 and use it until March 2019. It is not designed for continuous operation or everyday use. The convertible top is already tearing through dry rot and a few days after I received the bag the material started to fall apart. As if a net had crept out of it. Also, one of the shoulder straps on the bag began to tear.

This well built and durable roll top backpack is a medium sized 25L bag but has enough room for everyday carry on a rainy day. There is a padded inner pocket for a small laptop and a waterproof (non-waterproof) outer zippered pocket. The backpack's straps are durable, comfortable and easily adjustable, and the bag has a padded back. This bag is a quality bag at a great price - highly recommend!

My first impression of this bag confirmed my research that it is well designed and meets my needs. I found the quality to be very good at first, and overall that's the case with one exception. The opening of the bag closes with 1" velcro. I don't like it! At least zip it like a front pocket to close the bag and roll then open them. I get the roll method, but not sealed with water. The front pocket is not waterproof, there are water-resistant zipper flaps and a thin line. The bag must not be submerged, it absorbs water. It works as it should and has good design features like the ability to close with a velcro at the top or clips on each side + 1 small zipped pocket on the outside Easy access for phone etc .Only downside for me is that fibers form over the edge of the waterproof material. I've gone through the whole pack with a lighter to get rid of the fine fibers but they keep coming up. To me, that's not a breach of contract, just a minor inconvenience. Bought a 40 liter Zion Narrows hiking bag for my camera. It worked well and kept my gear dry at all times (camera, tripod, extra lens, towel and snacks) - even when the water was chest deep (I'm 5ft 1in). My only criticism is the front pocket where the zip is located - this pocket is not waterproof. Water can penetrate through the zipper. I ordered a 25L bag. The material appears to be waterproof and of good quality. It has enough space for what you need. If you take it on weekend trips and take a lot of things with you, you can take more with you. I ordered it for school and occasional beach trips and hikes. It does have a laptop compartment, but my Lenovo 15.6 feels a little big for it. It doesn't fit right. If you have regular laptop or Mac laptop, it will fit much better. I bought this when I was a bike messenger and it fit in almost every delivery that came my way. Now it serves as my everyday bag for commuting to work and also allows me to bike trips to the grocery store.
