Single bay bracket smaller than standard 3.5 " drive bay

Don't buy Corsair's single bay mounting bracket if you're going to install an SSD in your iMac. It will NOT fit standard 3.5" hard drive bays as stated on the packaging and website. This bracket is significantly smaller than a standard 3.5" drive. Instead, it is recommended to purchase the NewerTech AdaptaDrive (see attached image).

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Minor issues

Don't take a single bracket.

The single drive bracket is not long enough to hook into the rear holes on the 3.5" chassis so it just dangles. I wanted a dual drive mount, but it wasn't available in time for my project. I only used two screw holes to make it work somehow. Also, there were only three screws. The dual drive mount looks nice in the photos and I wish I had time to get my hands on it. One drive and one dual drive, but that seems like a lot of hassle for such a low fraction of the dollar.

Pros
  • Fun
Cons
  • A few small things

Computer). The problem is that the compartment is not long enough. It's as wide as a 3.5" desktop drive, but still as deep as a 2.5" laptop drive. So if your computer's mounting point is only intended for full-size…

Does not work on desktop Mac

2012 desktop Mac hard drive mounting pattern uses external drive mounting holes spaced 4 inches apart. does not include 4 inch holes. So it doesn't work on a Mac (unless you're willing to do some hacking, which I wasn't). When I discovered this problem I went to my local computer store and they had another bracket that was long enough to accommodate the standard mounting holes. This allowed me to cleanly install the SSD in the Mac. I didn't return the Revain which was too short and cheap to…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance

Serves its purpose under normal conditions, but.

I received this to upgrade an old iMac (circa 2006 model) with an SSD as this is the only thing anyone can do to get more usage out of those old dinosaurs with their 3GB and Break out of 32-bit operating system limitations. The only issue I had was that the mounting holes didn't line up exactly with the proprietary hard drive brackets that were removed from the original hard drive I was replacing. The 2-drive bracket fits better because it's a bit longer and you need '3-hole' brackets for 2006…

Not suitable for Thermaltake Overlord cases.

Let's start with the good details. ADVANTAGES: The metal is high quality and durable. Screws for mounting are available. They're tightly packed, but can get lost if you don't turn the box upside down. - Will NOT fit the Thermaltake Overseer case. Corsair's workstand is oversized and incompatible with the ones that come with the Thermaltake case. You can still mount it, but your mount will go in at an angle and won't be perfectly level. - NO instructions. I didn't know there was a second set of…
