Some tips! on Kitchen & Dining

The set is very complete and great for a first brew I recommend 3 or 4 pieces to avoid the metal finish Try refrigerating and transporting to the fermenter and avoid picking up the sediment from the bottom (use disinfected siphon). This prevents hop residue from entering the fermenter. For bottling, prepare a honey solution (20 g of honey per 2 cups of water), which will eliminate the metallic taste. Finally, when bottling, try to keep dirt off the bottom. Happy tea!

High recommendation! for home brewing and winemaking

Our Craft-a-Brew yeast is a hit! We did yeast and single-hop IPAs as our first brew attempts and are very happy with the results. The instructions that come with the Craft-a-Brew 1 Gallon Kits are easy to follow. Everything we needed was right in the box. And now that we have two driver boys and two complete kits, we can just buy 1-gallon refills of ingredients. So we bought yeast and are more than satisfied. We even gave the finished product away for Christmas and got rave reviews for yeast…

No instructions. 1 gallon size only.

Bad Bad Bad I said bad. There are no instructions, not one. Kits are typically 5 gallons and range from $30 to $50. It had no instructions but I brewed before the size was only 1 gallon. Now at $34, that's $34 for a gallon of beer you make yourself compared to about $8 a gallon for everyone else. The quality you say is good, I open a bag of malt and put it in the den and a dead fly floats up. Maybe it was the taste. I don't know because there are no instructions. But it was a nice box. If you…

Great flavor and smoothness for a stout.

I like the taste and might be biased due to my love of stouts and porters. Although this beer is dark, it is not too strong for anyone. If you are new to stouts, this is a mild stout. You can add other fermentables (sugar, malt, etc.) to enhance the flavor. I just wanted to get the flavor this drink had in mind. So I didn't add anything. This is a great beer for beginners, it allows you to understand the cooking time, taste, etc. No bitter beer. Sometimes you get beer that tastes bitter. This…

Ideal for beginners or occasional home brewers

This is my third set of beer brewing recipes. I'm new to homebrewing and wasn't sure I would like it. Got my first gallon kit as a gift and now I'm hooked. The one gallon recipes are great, the ingredients are fresh and high quality. Pre-measured and ready to brew. I recently bought a second 1 gallon bottle so I can always brew on deck. I prefer the one gallon size in case I mess up or don't like the beer. I don't feel like I'm wasting much. So far that hasn't been a problem as they all came…

Simple and practical

I ordered a 1 gallon single IPA kit. Quality ingredients and a simple process most beginners can handle - if you've taken 101 courses, read John Palmer's book, brewed a beer with a friend, or watched a few YouTube videos, you should be able to handle it. The beer had a nice malty medium body and smooth hops with no fuss or flash - a good introduction to the base flavor of Cascade which I and some friends liked. Pros: Comes with sanitizer. Cons: no sugar filling to fill and no detailed…

Solid kit! about home brewing and wine making

I have bottle, test tubes, thermometers etc.; from a full kit Craft a Brew I bought from an APA recipe a few years ago. Most of the other 1 gallon kits I've found at Revain are extracts/concentrates that taste $^&$%^# awful. So when I saw these recipe kits at Revain I thought I'd give it a try, it's a much more enjoyable home brewing experience. with real grain and hops as a wort concentrate. I followed the instructions that originally came with the kit - the same as on their website, and…
