Great disposable tool!

This is a decent tool. Not one you would use too much. I bent screwdrivers and other tools to pry the brake booster rod out of the brake pedal. I'm glad I got this vacuum replacement tool from VW!

Pros
  • High test scores for grip and durability
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than others

Do not waste your money

Absolutely useless. The steering column gets in the way so the tool won't even fit inside. And it's so short that you can hardly grab it without scratching the back of your foot with your hand. -5/10. I will never have to buy again and I won't. And it was $30. Do you mean that seriously? Is it a bent piece of metal with two teeth on the end?

Pros
  • While you are satisfied
Cons
  • There are nuances

You have something that you can use more than once in a lifetime.

Does not work on 2003 Audi TT. There is no space to install the tool on the brake booster shaft. Save your money and do what others suggest, cut the shaft off with a dremel, remove the brake pedal and take it off the pedal outside the car. If you don't have a Dremel and need to buy one, at least you have something that you can (hopefully) use more than once in a lifetime.

Pros
  • Amazing
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

YUP! At half the OEM price, this tool gets the job done!

YES! At half the OEM price, this tool gets the job done. I have a 2009 VW Jetta sports car. I figured I could get the brake booster out of there without buying this tool: I spent 45 minutes under the dash trying to loosen the brake pedal depressor using various tools and methods, but ended up doing me only the back hurts. With this tool I was able to remove the pedal in minutes, no problem! Worth the $.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Poor

waste of money! - Tools and equipment

Not working at all. I researched this tool and it is the correct tool that should have worked for the 2009 Audi A3 Quattro. Two hours trying to disconnect the pedal from the brake booster. I resorted to a YouTube shortcut that I was hesitant to try. Using a propane torch, heat the metal for a few seconds to soften the plastic and pull on it for 30 seconds. Hasn't damaged anything and fits perfectly. Don't waste your money with this tool.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Some problems

Works - with mods

Good so I read the other reviews before buying and bought it anyway. I've gotten to the point in my life where I'm willing to spend $34 to get the right tool for the job. I'm tired of trying everything with a rusty screwdriver, pliers and a hammer. It arrived quickly and well packaged. The quality seems to be good. However, as others have pointed out, it's too wide - at least for my application on a 2008 VW Beetle. I took another reviewer's advice and cut 3/4" out and welded it back. I'm lucky…

Pros
  • Stable results when tested
Cons
  • Good mostly, but...

If you need this tool for MK3 Cabrio or Jetta, stay away.

When you buy a tool that's designed specifically for a specific job, you expect it to get the job done. Not this tool. I bought this tool to disassemble the brake booster from a MKIII convertible after a few days of bad luck with screwdrivers. I figured buying a tool to remove it would be better than cutting off the stem and pulling out the pedal. Unfortunately, this tool is too wide to fit behind the brake pedal and hits the steering column. I've tried different ways but to no avail. I ended…

Pros
  • Good value for money
Cons
  • Lots of accessories
