After 3 1/2 years the plastic handle fell off and there are no replacement parts. The timer button is also cracked and falling apart. Why make handles out of plastic when that really has to last the longest. The warranty has already expired, so there is no replacement for me. I was offered a 20% coupon to buy another machine, which would mean I would have invested $145 making toast in less than 4 years. If that seems absurd, that could be the reason.

Warranty toaster stinks

Works well but warranty is lame. The plastic handle on the end of the lever broke into pieces when my toast was thrown away. This is less than three months of use. When I called Cuisinart for a replacement part, they said they didn't have the parts in stock and they had to send me a new one. I would have to cut the cord from my toaster, send it to them as my cost plus another $10 to have them send me a new one. The new one might as well have the same part doing the same thing due to poor design

Good for bagels, not so good for bread

This toaster looks great on my counter. The controls are easy to use, the "Ready" setting works very well and takes no guesswork. On the medium setting, the toast turned perfectly golden brown. My main complaint is that the length of the toast slots is too short for what I consider a regular slice of bread (seriously, Cuisinart, size does matter, can we just get half an inch more people?). For the bagels I usually use this with, they fit perfectly, which is an improvement over my old toasterโ€ฆ

Burns Your Toast is the best of ovens and toasters

I can't believe I'm writing a toaster review but people deserve a fair warning on this item. He burns toast. Poorly. It has a slider setting of 1 to 7. Setting 7 is for the darkest toast. All you have to do is set it to 3 and your toast will burn. Set it to 4 and your toast will turn black and smoke will come out of the slots. (The bread was honey wheat, of course.) I was afraid to try the 7 settings for fear of setting the house on fire. I thought it might be defective so I bought a second one

Sturdy construction, browns well even on homemade bread

We've had many toasters over the years and it was hard to find a toaster that toasted evenly. Some of them did well on typical, mass-market sandwich breads, but most specialty breads didn't toast evenly. It's good and even toast; Tested on multiple brands and types of bread. The lift handle and dark slide lever are comfortable and reliable. The "Defrost" and "Single slice" buttons work well. A few minor usability issues. But good toast makes up for that: if you stand the toaster on the longโ€ฆ

Looks good but feels cheap and is S_L_O_W.

I like the look of the Cuisinart CPT-640 with its simple controls and no complicated functions that might limit the lifespan of the unit. The problem starts when you first pick it up and realize that the haptic experience is just as bad as the most economical models. The next big problem with the CPT-640 is that the heating wire is only wrapped about 8 1/2 times (see photo), not 14 times more tightly wrapped than the best models. The fewer turns of heating wire, the slower and more unevenly the

So far, so good. - Toaster

About an hour ago I received my Cuisinart 4 Wide Slot Toaster. I recommend running it on level 1 WITHOUT bread after about 2 bread cycles to burn off any build debris. Be sure to let it cool down between cycles. You may smell a slightly funny odor while doing this. This comes from the particles burning the heating elements. As you can see, the toaster looks very good, fresh look, nice brushed stainless steel color, light weight and easy to use. As far as cleaning goes, I've found that allโ€ฆ
