The kettle is excellent. Heat water to a specific temperature for green tea, white tea, french press coffee, etc. The kettle heats up 10 times faster (which is cheaper) than a stovetop kettle. This teapot is great. 18 months later it is leaking and there is water on the countertop. UPDATE: I am updating this review after discovering a dangerous fault with this kettle. The kettle should turn off automatically when it's boiling and it usually does, but every few weeks it just won't turn off, it just keeps boiling even with all the lights off. Luckily I was home every time that happened so I turned it off to turn it off. Even removing it from the base doesn't turn it off as it just starts cooking again when you put it down.
