As expected. Gift for Husband UPDATE. The drive and 2-inch ball somehow twisted in the groove and the ball came loose when passing the speed bump. This was only the second time a 2 inch ball had been used.

Just started using this replacement model. It looks like it will last longer than the Covert-a-Ball or the very short-lived Reese Towpower style. I like its simplicity. Just need to see how long the ball bearing in each of the balls lasts.

When catching, fishing and transporting, I use balls of different sizes on my trailers. This makes it much easier to switch between sizes. The balls attach and detach easily with a combination of twist locks, yet remain strong when pulled. They fit nicely in a package under the seat of my truck so I always have access to them. It's a lot easier than screwing a rusty clutch ball in and out every time you need to shift. I am very impressed with the entire CURT clutch system.

My dad has had the ball for a few years now and loves it. Last year I bought a set of balls (42225), storage box (41350) and recoil pad (41354) from Revain and everything was great. I use all 3 balls and all 3 really fit in the case. Lay the 2 smallest ones first (flat against flat) on the bottom, then the largest one on top. I bought this because I have several different sized trailers and I haul them all with the same truck. It looks like a great time saver and would make switching from one trailer to another much easier. It seemed like a quality product came out of the box. I am very satisfied with this product. I'm a regular customer of a similar Curt replacement ball with a set 2 and 1 7/8. Changing these balls is very quick, super easy (no ZERO tools required) and the easiest to keep clean. I had a competitor's branded equivalent that required using a coin/screwdriver to turn the top of the spring loaded locking mechanism and while they are good you need to make sure they stay MUCH more lubricated and dirt free by using a Spray cleaner on the spring-loaded…

Update: Almost two years later this system still works great for me. Used it to tow an 18-foot trailer 300 miles, haul a house, haul building materials about a half-dozen times or so, and haul firewood about 2,000 pounds at a time last winter. I had to take some sandpaper for the grooves. because I left it unprotected over the winter and the ball wouldn't come back, but it only took a minute to fix and it was really my fault for not taking better care of it.
