Works great on '02 Golf TDI

I installed a curt hitch on my '02 Golf TDI and needed headlights so I installed this kit. I used crimp connectors to attach the wires to the exposed brake light contacts so I didn't have to splice anything, which was great. What else can I say? It works! I was very proud to see it in action after installing it.

2004 Mazda Tribute - Hitch Accessory

Connected to my 2004 Mazda Tribute, took me half an hour to install with the connectors provided and everything works great, trailer headlights and turn signal/brake lights came on, good quality connectors. (Although I would suggest soldering your connections to the factory wires instead of using the included blue plastic quick connectors, they work, but I would be concerned about corrosion in the connections if I use the blue plastic ones.)

Instructions are clear and easy to follow

Instructions are clear and easy to follow. The supplied splicing clamps are very practical and make it easier to connect cables from the car. My only problem is that sometimes the signals on the trailer don't work properly. The left turn signal sometimes doesn't work, but when I use the hazard lights, they're always on. I used a low voltage circuit tester, professional 6-12v circuit tester - indicator light - lifetime warranty to test the function of the wires coming from my car. Seems to be aโ€ฆ

DO NOT BUY FROM NISSAN ALTIMA

I bought this because it was the 'recommended' and 'match' converter for my 2006 Nissan Altima. However, after installation, the brake light and high beam work perfectly, but the turn signals flash once and then go out. After doing some research I found that I needed an active converter. And to top it off, the active converter was only $1 more, now I have to send it back and pay $6 for return shipping. So if you have a car that needs a converter ie. H. Separate stopping/tail turning, then buyโ€ฆ

Great for Rogue 2014

I bought this because I didn't want to run a hot battery wire and it was the only car with no power that had some sort of circuit protection for the vehicle. As this can only provide a certain amount of power over the car's existing wiring, make sure your trailer uses primarily LED lights. This has worked great a couple of times when I've used it and was very easy to install as you don't have to fully charge the power from the battery. The LED turn signals on my trailer light up immediatelyโ€ฆ

Does not run to rated current

Two stars can be too generous. Bought to hook up a 2001 Malibu to tow a small utility trailer. Wiring and testing with a meter and trailer wiring tester showed it to work well. However once the trailer is connected there is no output, the converter still has input voltage but no output when the brakes or signals are used. A well-stocked electronics store helps; turned on the trailer lights with a DC power supply and found the current drawn was just under 2.6 amps. Curts' own website states that
