Performs well in welders

This tool is very good for drilling spot welds on the Ford Escape wheel arch. Made the exchange much easier. I used one drill for about a dozen drills. I'm not sure how well the beats will hold up over time, but the tool did the job for me.

Pros
  • Niche best
Cons
  • Doubtful

Worked for me for Spot Welders

I had a persistent broken stud that needed removing so I purchased this product and removed it in minutes. This product saves you time and is easy to use. Can't comment on durability as I haven't used it much, but once I have it it holds up great.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Requires Socket

Keep it centered on the spot welder

I pre-drilled a hole in the center of the weld spot with a 3/32 or 7/64 titanium drill bit in the center of the weld, then I used a spot weld cutter, hold DO NOT GRAIN it in the middle or it will break, I easily removed the 12 spot welds on one side then used a chisel and hammer to remove the rest, good luck.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Drilled a few holes and still works.

I was pleasantly surprised at how many spot welds were drilled with no visible dullness. It came with a bunch of cutting blades, I thought it was because they were crap. The other knurl bit that comes with the kit also drills pretty well and looks sharp even after drilling a few spot welds.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Not all fit

As described

I am satisfied with this product. For the price it does what it describes. Like others, I had trouble keeping the topic centered. After spending more time with the instrument, I began to develop a technique that significantly reduced the frequency of the hit. Start with a good middle hit. Then when you start cutting metal, start with light pressure and high speed. Let the drill draw a decent circle around the spot weld before applying pressure. I'm not saying the problem is 100% solved, but it…

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Only available in black

Love this little set

Replacement of floor coverings as part of a restoration. I used the same nozzle for about 20 spot welds and it showed no signs of dulling. In fact, accidentally going through both layers of sheet metal a few times, it was almost too sharp for me because it cuts so quickly. Definitely worth the money for me as it made removing the old pans a lot easier.

Pros
  • Save time and money with this bonus set that includes 2 rotary cutter bits PLUS 5 extra blades!
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for senior citizens

while it works fine. suitable for spot welder

Works pretty well although I haven't had a chance to actually use it yet. So far there are only a few spot welds on my jeep. I will do more soon and may update after testing them thoroughly. The only complaint might be that there are no instructions. Pretty basic, but for those who have never used a cutter like this, this can be helpful and prevent cutters from breaking or damaging the surrounding sheet metal.

Pros
  • Flexible Use - Excellent spot weld cutter can be used for iron, cast iron, alloy steel, carbon steel, die steel, grinder, auto repair, hole drilling, car body repair, etc. any place you think it could be useful.
Cons
  • New competitors have arrived

Surprisingly useful when restoring a car.

A super valuable tool when it comes to spot welds In my case I was installing rust repair patches on a Chevelle 72 and needed to remove spot welds on the lower rear quarter panel Caveat: I was too aggressive with the tool the first time I used it.The cutters are SHARP and will gnaw through metal with either side of the weld point. It was so easy I thought this should do the trick but then I realized that the ideal use is to cut from the side you expect to throw away and expect to hold and leave…

Pros
  • PERFECT SIZE - 3/8" cutting blade ideal for removing spot welds. Standard size 1/4" mandrel with flats to prevent rotation in chuck (fits 1/4" and larger drill bits) . The cutting edge resists wear and easily removes debris during operation
Cons
  • Available in white only
